Hi All,

We just returned from a short trip to Laughlin Nevada and wanted to share
some of the RV camping activity... many that are free!

Starting at the top of Casino Drive, Harrah's Casino has designated a
parking area accross the street from its casino for RVs. There are no
hookups, but there is plenty of room. Many RVrs had their awnings out and
tables and chairs. Looks like a real campground. Harrahs also provides a
free shuttle from the campground to the casino with a stop at the Regency
Casino which is about half a mile down Casino Drive. From the Regency you
can easily access the "Riverwalk" which begins at the Riverside Casino. The
Riverside Casino also has a good size RV park with full hookups. When you
sign up for the Casino's slot club, you can specify that you own an RV to
receive special rates and free nights (if you gamble enough). While looking
at antique cars at the Riverside, you'll encounter a booth with an offer of
free camping at Riverview Campground, a nice resort part of the Coast to
Coast system. For listening to their presentation, you can either get free
nights camping, $20 to $40 cash, and a buffet or prime rib dinner at the
Riverside. We had the buffet and $20.00, we didn't camp there because we
only stayed a couple days at the Riverside which was also free from a visit
to the RV show in Pomona.

Other popular free spots include a similar parking lot accross from the
Golden Nugget Casino. Many full-timers staying up to a month at a time...
for free. Another popular spot is along a ridge above Casino Drive with an
incredible view of the Colorado River.

Some of the less attractive spots, although free, are the parking lot of the
Colorado Bell. Its pretty much a parking lot though... you don't see any
piknik tables. You are close to the street... a little noisy.

Arrive early at the parking lot of the Riverside and you might get a spot on
the fence with a river view.

Well that covers Casino Drive. There is also the AVI Indian Casino. You
can park in the lot or choose the full hookups at their new RV park. I
haven't stayed at the RV park but the parking lot is great for a quick
stopover. Lots of room and even a park area to walk the dog.

Happy Camping !!!

Great report! Anyone got anything similar in Vegas?
