We had a 27 foot '91 Road Ranger for 5 years. Had no problem with the
mechanical parts of the trailer what-so-ever (with the exception of a
broken brake wire). It was pretty solid, and towed extremely well -
very stable with no sway, even in a wind or when being passed by trucks.
The outside also held up well, and was in good condition when we sold it
(I did keep it washed and waxed, and it was stored inside).
Unfortunately, the interior was not as good. The couch began
disintegrating almost immediately after we bought it. It also converted
into a bed, but was uncomfortable, and unsuitable for anything but small
kids. The mattresses (twin beds) were VERY uncomfortable, and if we had
kept the trailer we'd have had to replace them. We had the freestanding
dinette (BIG mistake), and one of the chairs collapsed when I sat on
it. Not Kit's fault, but I had nothing but trouble with the fridge and
water heater for 4 of the 5 years I owned it.
Finally, I had some trouble getting warranty service. Even though I
lived 100 miles from the nearest Kit dealer, and was having brake
problems (REALLY didn't want to drive 100 miles with brake problems)
they refused to authorize any service at a local dealer. On the other
hand, when I needed some minor parts they did package them up and ship
them to me no questions asked.
Hope this helps.
