We are traveling to Cape May, N.J. , and staying at the Cold Spring
Campground... Any experiences good or bad down in that area.. and any tips
would help if you have visited before. Thanks in advance

We live within one hour of Cape May and love it there. I only know Cold
Spring Campground thru word of mouth and that has been good. You will be a
few miles from the beach. There is a daily/weekly/seasonal beach pass one
must have to use the beach. They sell them right on the beach itself and
there is also a building on the boardwalk where you can buy them. I am sure
the people at the campground will fill you in on that. Cape May is a
wonderful "Victorian" town to visit....if you have never been there before
don't expect a lot of "night life". You can drive up a few miles to
Wildwood and there is a boardwalk filled with amusement piers and lots of
food stalls.
Have a great time.

We do frequent birding and occasional camping in Cape May. We were on
New England Rd. near the Cold Springs campground just last night.

The campground is very old, but has a good following. It has uneven
roads, tight sites, and few modern ammenities. On the bright side, it
is wooded, conveniently located, but still off the beaten path.

You will be very close to Higbee Beach on Delaware Bay. It was once
notorious for nude bathing, but the authorities have successfully
stamped out the practice. You will also have easy access to Cape May
Point and the lighthouse. If you are a birder, you will be in heaven.
