I just recieved an offer in the mail from KOA/Allstate RV-Roadhelp for their
emergency roadside service policy. This comes at the time my current AAA
policy needs to renew so I'm giving it some thought. It is $40 a year cheaper
than AAA, has UNLIMITED towing distance, UNLIMITED labor costs for road side
repair, UNLIMITED payment for lost keys/lockout, covers RV and all vechicles
you drive and it covers both me and my wife. There are several other bennies,
including a KOA discount card, but those are the main ones.

Forty dollars a year is not enough savings to warrant switching, but some of
these other services makes it appear worth while. I've checked into the one
from Good Sam and prefer AAA. Has anyone had any experiences with this
KOA/Allstate policy?

I tried Allstate over a year ago. After six months I needed a tow.
When I called I got a recording saying that it was snowing in the east
and I should call back in three days. I live in Florida. Good thing I
wasn't stuck in a snow bank. I called back in 3 days and was told the
office was closed.

I went back to Good Sam whom I have been with for 12 years. I've never
had trouble with them and have had numerous calls.

I have only had to use them once, and it wasn't too big of a deal, just a flat
tire on our 36' class A in front of my house, but they took care of it right
away.

The tow company sent too small a truck (not a big enough jack), so another
comapny was dispatched and they changed the tire with no problems.

I switched from AAA to them for the same reasons.

I've had Allstate for several years, and used them several times. I think
they are excellent. One big advantage: they cover YOU, NOT the CAR. That
means they cover you no matter what you drive -- car, rental car,
motorhome, whatever. They also include your spouse at no charge. AAA, on
the other hand, covers the vehicle. So if you want coverage for your car
as well as camper, you need two memberships.
