I've been considering a new Rv and we thought we'd like a Class A even though
the RVCG really does not REALLY consider them all that safe.
However, I've come across a lot of positive information on the Lazy Daze class
c.
RVCG even gives them five stars!!
Are there any DISSATISFIED Lazy Daze owners out there??

Not us. I am not qualified to make the statement that LD is the superior RV
on the road but I can say that it is far better than most of the rolling
Beverly Hillbillies rigs that we park next to.

We lucked up and got good advice when we bought our first rig and got a LD
even though we had to fly a thousand miles there and drive back. In the
beginning we assumed that we would treat it like a car. Drive it for 2 or 3
years then get another one. After 6 years we have found no reason at all to
get rid of it. If anything it has gotten better as we slowly customise it
to our desires.

I wasn't willing to go to Florida to pick up a motorhome. That was my
only dissatisfaction.

We just made a vacation out of our trip to pick up our MH. Rented a car,
drove 2,.000 miles one-way with the dogs, picked it up, saw some sights,
visited friends and relatives, drove back home via a different route. Great
trip, lots of fun ... isn't that what these things are for? (Anyone renting
a car one-way should compare prices; just among the big three rental
sources, costs ranged from $300 to over $1,300 for the same car).

The two reasons we took Lazy Daze off our shopping list were ceiling height
(we wanted high ceilings to accommodate some toys -- a personal problem) and
bed size (the beds even in the 26.5' LD were smaller than in the 24-foot
Winnebago we settled on. I suspect neither is an issue in the Class A.

Possible confusion between Lazy Daze (Manufacturer in California) and
Lazy Days (Dealer in Florida)?

What Winnebago did you get? And how does it compare otherwise.

Did you end up buying something else? If so what did you get?

Thanks for you Lazy Dayz info. Please don't stop.
BTW I asked about comparing the Class A Embassy and the Class A Commander made
by Triple E, but no one replied. Just thought I'd tryagain.

After comparing every 22-26 foot Class A & Class C we could find in the
magazines, RVCG books, and shows to our criteria, the 2002 Winnebago Class C
24-footer sans slideout on the Ford chassis was a no-brainer. But that took
> a year, and our criteria had some unique components, in no particular
order.

1. High ceiling to accommodate big, lightweight toys inside. This model has
a 6-11" interior ceiling that almost no other A or C offers. Even the 2003
version of this same unit dropped the ceiling by a critical 4".
2. Interior versatility ... for those toys. This model has three roomy bed
areas, larger than many bigger As and Cs. One brand called their 48" bed a
"queen size". (Fine ... where's the king gonna sleep?) With just two of us,
we can now convert the extra sleeping quarters to suit our needs.

None of the "exotics" such as Chinook or Born Free came close to the ceiling
height or interior versatility as the Winnie ... yet they cost 2-3 times as
much.

3. The Ford chassis is said by every source I could find to have better
handling than Chevy's.
4. The biggest local RV dealer is a factory-certified, full-body-and-chassis
Ford and Winnebago dealer.
5. 22-footers don't meet #1 or #2 (many 26-footers didn't), 26 is overkill
and far tougher to park downtown and in the tight recreational areas we
frequent.
6. Slideouts were out of the question due to 1, 2, and 3.

The Embassy is Triple E's "entry level" motorhome and is geared towards
the weekend/couple of weeks of vacation user in my opinion. It has less
bells and whistles and slightly different construction than the
Commander which is their mainstream line of gas MH's. I believe that it
has less insulation in the walls for example and things like levellers,
generators, invertors etc. would all be options. The Commanders are
generally very well fitted out and use the same construction techniques
as the diesels. Triple E has a website at: www.tripleerv.com that has a
lot of info online.

I'm not one, we picked up our 26.5 mid bath in October last year, and have
been one happy camper. Someone commented on the bed being too small in the
Lazy Daze, must be referring to the overhead bed, as the twin couches make
into a bed bigger than our Eastern King we have at home.

Good Hunting.

Must be. I don't know how many times I've had people say that they've
heard of my Florida manufacturer after I tell them the brand name of
my motorhome.

According to lazydaze web site,
The size of cabover bed is 58x80 which is a little bigger than queen bed.
But it is in a box tight space, so some people hates it.

IMHO, the previous poeter is refering the size of 26.5 island bed which is
57x77 with cutout. One needs to look at the floor plan on the website to
understand the "cutoff".

No, you didn't scroll down far enough on the lazy daze site. Not referring
to the 26.5 foot island bed, they build very few of that model. I said I
have the 26.5 foot mid bath. It has two opposing couches that make into a
wall to wall bed. Not sure of the exact size, but its larger than our King
bed we have at home. We could easily sleep 3 adults there, and its pure
luxury for the wife and me. She can't even hit me with her pillow when I
snore (which of course, I don't!).

Alot can be said for a single bed. The wife can't complain when I have
cuddled close to her. Just like when we were young and no kids

Those 48 and 52 and 55 inch beds some mfrs call "big" or even "queen-sized"
were fine when we first got married and the dog got the other half of the
bed.

30 years later, however, SLEEP has become an important horizontal objective.
The bed (at least at home) is now 82" wide ... and the dog sleeps in the
middle.
