In 97 I purchased a Terry Expo 22LW which I am thoroughly enjoying.
Except for the numerous flaws and examples of poor workmanship. E.g. -
Things not hooked up right, moldings coming off and a rubber roof that
wasn't sealed properly, resulting in extensive damage. Which they ended up
taking back to the factory to repair.Fortunately it had a 2 year warranty.
I am wondering if this is the norm as far RVs go?
Or is it something exclusive to Fleetwood products or did I just get a
lemon?

George: This seems to be a Fleetwood Trade mark, poor workmanship, and
they really don't care. I have a 98 Westport by Avion. I have owned it
for 13 months of which it has been in the shop 5 1/2 of those 13
months. The problems are to numerous to write here but Fleetwood just
don't give a d** about it. It is now in the hand of our Attorney to
settle.

We just went to an RV dealer open house this past weekend that sells
Fleetwood Products. My wife and I noticed several flaws in campers that
were on display in the hopes of being sold. And this was not a detailed
inspection, only a casual walk-through.

Flaws we noticed (all new 1999-2000 models) ranged from cabinet doors with
hinges pulled out, trim moldings sagging, trim moldings that did not fit the
curve (enough gap to insert a couple fingers),closet frames coming apart,
etc. The sad part is that all of these units were priced between $20,000
and $45,000. And this is not a biased statement, we currently own a
fleetwood TT and are very happy with it.

We also purchased a Pontic Montana recently. It's a nice vehicle, but the
workmanship wasn't the greatest either - loose window, extra part protruding
through grille in rear heater, CD player skipped here and there, marks in
the finish, cold air filters through the drivers side door handle, and at
4500 miles the rattles are getting louder. $27,000.

All I know is that it sure is alot of money for what you actually get. Like
everything else these days, the guy at the top of the ladder is only
concerned with the bottom line $$$$.
