Cape Canaveral Florida campgrounds?

Anyone recommend a private or state campground in the space coast area,
convenient to the space museums etc,,, water, elec and accepting dogs would
be nice,,, we don't mind a slight drive to get to the space center...

Here's a good one, right on the ocean, 10 mi south of the Cape, don't know if
they accept
dogs,but I have tent camped there..

We plan to go back during a launch, since you can view it from the campground...
We loved it and it was very convenient to all the attractions....

By far the closest and best choice in that part of the county is Manatee
Hammock, it's beautiful place, though it's not well known. We've been there
several times with the Boy Scouts. It's a very reasonably price county
campground and one of the few public parks which has a swimming pool.

We have camped at Manatee Hammocks. The location is great for visiting
the space center or watching a launch. The campground is nice. The
sites are dirt with loads of trees and leaves. My only complaint would
be the noise of the road being in a front site is pretty noisy. Also
when we went (in October 2000) there were tons of mosquitos. But to
visit the space center it was great. They had a very nice fishing pier
also.
