Ours is doing that too. On our old pop-up, I replaced all the velcro
that held the canvas to the door. Just removed all the adhesive,
cleaned it with alcohol, and put new stick-on velcro on the door
frame. It stuck beautifully. It was just Velcro that I purchased at
the fabric store.
So, clean off all the adhesive, try a brand new piece of Velcro.

You are definately not the only one with the problem. Not only is my
door velcro loose, but the new velcro that holds up the front of my
add-a-room refuses to stay put.
When I wrote Coleman they suggested superglue. I'm going to try that
this coming weekend on the door velcro when we go out for our second
trip. If that doesn't do it, I've got new velcro ready to apply. For
the add-a-room I'm going to get some more snaps for holding the weight
of the material so the velcro will just be for bug control.
Ken: where would I get "goop", Home Depot? What about using some
waterproof construction adhesive? (already have that)

Yep, the "GOOP" did the job for us. Had the same velcro problem so I
removed the velcro, clened the surfaces with solvent, and then used
the "Marine GOOP" that I had gotten from Home Depot. I have seen other
types of "GOOP" from the same manufacturer at Ace and WalMart,
probably all the same formula with different packaging. I keep a tube
of "GOOP" in the camper for repairs and mending, great for all sorts
of leaky or torn stuff.

What kind of snaps are you talking about? I've only used the add-a-room once.
It kept falling away from the awning velcro due to the weight.

I just put "goop adhesive" on my shopping list for tomorrow (has to be
tomorrow since we leave Thursday for our next weekend trip).

As Mike said, the snaps came with my add-a-room. Also, as he says, 3
is definately not enough even with the "rafters" going through the
grommets. I figure it needs to have them about every 12". With the
grommets & existing snaps that would be 4 more. I'm also thinking
about getting some for the sides of the room too.
FYI: These snaps are mounted to the front awning rail. The "snap" part
is actually the head of a screw. If I can't get more from the dealer,
I'll find some elsewhere and rivet them on if needed.
BTW: I've already stuck a lot of regular sewing snaps on the ties for
keeping the window covers up so I don't have to mess with tieing &
untieing. During our trip this coming weekend I'm putting more on the
tie down ties too.
You also mentioned about a broken A/C shroud. This would be covered
under the warranty depending on the age of your camper. The damage can
be caused by wind blowing through the plastic shroud and cracking or
tearing off the shround itself. There is a guy in the North Texas Popup
Camper Assoc that makes a brace (2 minute installation) that limits the
flex of the A/C shroud. Here's an excerpt from his email to me....
".....The problem with the shroud is the light weight of the unit
particularly at the four mounting points where the screws hold it to the
a/c unit. The plastic is too flimsy. It simply mounts to the shroud by
removing to two top front mounting screws, put the brace in place and
re-install the screws. It will completely eliminate cover shaking and
save your cover from self-destructing. I had these made about a year
ago with the intent of selling them on a web-site. I've built the site,
but have never published it. Anyway, I've been selling them for $15.00.
The brace is made of aluminum. It is die-cut and machine formed to
conform to your a/c cover. The braces are also individualy anodized to
control oxidation......" His name is Bob Pitney "po...@ev1.net"

Before you buy.
>Just remeber: This stuff likes a whole day to dry. Ken
I got a tube of the "household" Goop tonight at Home Base.
Is there any difference between the varieties (household, carpenters,
marine, plumbing, automotive, amazing, etc, etc, etc)? The household
had an applicator tip and the others didn't which is why I chose it.
That's the same I have: To clean the applicator I toss it a jar with a
couple oz's of lacquer thinner and let it sit over night. Difference's
I don't know so I won't even venture a guess. One poster said they used
marine and I used household. Both worked. It's really a good glue just
takes forever to dry.
BTW, I have the same problem with the velcro, but only on one side of the
door. I'm picking up soom Goop today.

Our velcro hear the door is doing the same thing. I plan to sand the metal
first, and then stick it back on with superglue.

You may have run across the post that indicated that superglue was
water soluable and that "Goop" would be a better choice. Last time
out, I used Goop on the velcro by the door and on a part of the velcro
that holds up the front of the add-a-room. I'll find out how well it
holds this weekend. We'll be camping where the temps will likely be
well above 90 (98 forecast in that area for tomorrow). If the Goop
holds, I'll use it wherever the heat melts the rest of the velcro
glue.
Thanks, Tom, I finally got caught up on the NG last night, and did see the
posts about "Goop". I've never heard of it, but I think it warrants a trip to
Lowe's or Home Depot.
