Hello all:

I have an after market truck bumper on my 3/4 ton truck. I would like to
add a square hitch receiver onto the bumper, but the manufacturer has placed
the three holes in positions that do not fit the plate style hitches that
are commonly available (TSC, auto parts stores, etc...). So... a couple of
questions:

1) Should I weld a plate-style hitch onto the bumper, and if I do,
2) Should I weld it on the top of the current plate, or under the hitch
plate?

I would love to bolt it on, but the holes of all three types that I have
tried do not fit correctly.
They also are just off enough to prevent me from drilling or cutting new
holes to bolt on with any confidence;

Any suggestions? I am a 'new-bee'.

Thanks!

I'd try giving a call to the manufacturer (dealer) of the truck and see if the
have a plate hitch that will fit correctly... might cost a bit more but.this way
you'll be sure!
