Has anyone camped with ATV's? I am looking for a campground that has trails.

St. Joe State Park in Missouri.

You can ride directly from the campground.

I have to admit I used to love to ride dirt bikes, but I can't
tolerate listening to the sound anymore. Any campground that allows
ATVs or dirt bikes to be driven nearby is off _my_ wish list. I
believe that few private CG owners are willing to alienate a large
majority of campers to please a relatively few off-road enthusiasts.
Certainly the larger State and National Forest CGs with basic hookups
won't allow it. And the same goes for all US National Parks.

One problem with ATVs is that they cannot be licensed for on-road use
like (some) dirt bikes, so that really limits where you can take them.

I expect that you will be mainly limited to the some primitive sites
in the State and National Forests, or DNR land, or designated ORV
areas. Are you set up for dry camping? Try contacting your local State
and National Forest ranger stations for birt bike maps, and call the
Dept of Natural Resources and ask for a map of area DNR lands with CG
info. I am sure they can help you.

Where do you live? I know of a couple of ORV areas in Western WA.

Try the Black River Falls area in WI. That area has an intense
snowmobile trail system that the ATV use in the summer. Hayward area
in northern Wisconsin is really nice, the trails are packed in the
winter but in the summer you will have a hard time finding anybody
else on the trails.

Last July I went with group of people and we hit the Chequamegon
National Forest trail system, for three day on riding we only saw two
other groups of riders.

Good Luck
