My tow vehicle has a 4 wire flat female connector, my new Aliner has
a 7 way blade female connector. Is there a adaptor for this situation or
must I have the tow vehicle rewired? Thanks

You can get adapters at many auto parts stores or RV stores. Walmart has a
few of these also. 4 wires only gets you lights. 7 wires will add electric
brakes and battery trickle charge. If your trailer has electric brakes,
then I would recommend buying a brake controller and new connector for your
tow vehicle. If all you want is the lights to work on the trailer, then the
adapter would suffice.

Hi Jim. It seems you want to go from a 4 flat connector to a 7
round connector. I dont think they make that adapter. I use a 7
round to a 4 flat while towing my snowmobile trailer because it
doesn't have electric brakes. If your Aliner has a 7-blade ,
then it probably has electric brakes. You must get you tow
vehicle wired with an electric brake controler and the proper 7-
blade conector out back.

You will need to have your tow vehicle wired. There are adapters the got
from a 7 wire to a 4 wire, but none are made the got from 4 to 7. Once you
have the 7 on your vehicle, you will have the ability to adapt to any
wiring.

Our Explorer has a 4-flat harness. To adapt to our new Cheyenne, we got an
adapter that goes from the 4-flat to the 7-round. The additional three wires
have connectors that can be wired directly to the vehicle. The manufacturer
is: D T S. There is no model # on the plug.

Pat- Thanks for the info. I suspected that I would not be able to buy
a simple plug in adaptor.

I made an adaptor in about 30 minutes by simply buying another Bargman
7-pin connector and plugging it into the trailer connector. I took
the output wires and wired them to another 4-pin which then connects
to the vehicle. It has worked fine for 3 seasons. The trailer does
not have brakes so I didn't need the other pins. Total cost for this
fix was under $20.
