We are looking at purchasing a Bonair BA1200 second hand. It has a
GVWR of about 2000 lbs and we will be using a Windstar with the 3.8L
and a tranny cooler.

Does anyone have experience towing a BA1200? This is a 12 foot model
but is relatively light compared to some of the newer trailers. Just
wondering if anyone has had any bad experiences towing one of these.

We currently tow an 8.5 footer (old Lionel) but are growing out of it.

Thanks

HI Barry,

I tow a BA1050 with a Dodge Caravan 3.0 l. I have no problems. I find
the Bonair trailers are narrower than most of the other brands (Jayco,
Rockwood, etc) so the standard factory mirrors on the Van are enough to
see around the trailer.

Enjoy the extra room with the BA1200.
Cheers,
Rob

Hi Barry,
I used to own a 1982 BA1200. It was a good trailer with lots of room. The
only problem I had was with the surge brakes. Being an older model, the
surge brakes needed to be rebuilt (bad seals on the pump unit). However the
seals could not be purchased. The only cure was to replace the entire unit
and it was expensive. I hope Bonair used electric brakes on later models. I
think our old trailer is still being used. We now have a 1999 Coleman
Bayside.Good Luck
