Our second trip out will be next weekend (4/7-4/9), but we have
to be back mid-afternoon on Sunday, so we're going to venture
only down to the local lake.

Anyone have any recommendations on which campground around
Jordan Lake works out best? Too early for swimming. Canoe or
boat rentals might be nice 'if the weather be good'. Any toddler
stuff? (Playgrounds or similar)

Thank you,

We rode through one back in the winter. I think it was Parkers Creek, since
it is the one open all year. Pretty nice sites on the Lake. Crosswinds
sounds very nice, but it was closed when we rode down. Let us know which
one you end up staying at. We may camp down there sometime this summer.

Remember when a camper was a person, not a vehicle?

Crosswinds is nice - lots of double sites too. I'm not sure if they rent
boats at the marina but that's your best bet. It you go late on Friday I
advise the larger campgrounds.

There are over 1000 campsites in all of Jordan Lake. It is has the largest
number of campsites of any state park in the state. Bring your binoculars
and watch for eagles and ospreys.

The sites are very spacious. All have fire rings, tables and a pole to hang
your lantern. At least the two large campgrounds have playgrounds. Most are
in cul-de-sacs - just like Cary!

You can get a map off the internet.

Have fun.
