If ever you get back there, have you done the whale watching? It was a
great experience for our family last year. We took a sunset cruise and
it was truly beautiful to see these great whales fairly closely and I'd
do it again.
We stayed at Paine's Campground at S. Wellfleet. We had water and
electric and spacious, fairly private site, considering we were
actually on an intersection. Not the greatest bathouse, but three free
outside showers that we really enjoyed using. A short bike ride away
was a pond.
The main thing that sounded so familiar about your experience, was
tearing down in the downpour. We were drenched! We had a 13 hour ride
ahead of us. We kept a change of clothes in the van, and quickly
changed at the bathouse before we left. It helped to make it alot more
endurable.
Safe Travels,
Kimberly
