Need input on the following campgrounds around the Williamsburg area. We are
planning a trip at the end of July and would appreciate any information you can
give us. The campgrounds are:
Jamestown Beach Campsite.
Williamsburg/Busch Gardens KOA
Williamsburg/Colonial KOA
Also, how close are these to Busch Gardens and Water Country? Thanks !

Few years ago I stayed at the KOA there. It wasn't a bad campsite but not a
great one. Price was right, service and facilities was fine and I had no real
complaints about it. It was relatively close to the parks. If we were going
back that way I wouldn't hesitat to book another night there.

I've visited Jamestown Beach and wasn't impressed. Another suggestion,
Newport News Park campground. Now, you won't find anything there but a nice
wooded site, nothing fancy. No pool or beach. Just a nice quiet evening
after a day at the parks. I live just a few minutes from there and we even
plan on camping there this fall. I think the sites w/hook ups are about
18.00. Haven't checked out the bathrooms there so can't tell you how clean
they are. Across from the campsite (across this little lake) there is a nice
park. You'll find trails there, picnic areas and playgrounds. The campground
is about 15 minutes or so from Busch Gardens. Don't know anything about the
Williamsburg KOA. Here's a website for Newport News park if you're
interested. Have a good time at Busch!
