Sherrie Densuk breaks her silence

by Jayne Miller

[BALTIMORE] – Sherrie Densuk refuses to name names, but in a telephone conversation
Tuesday
afternoon, she said the information she will provide to the grand jury investigating
President Clinton
involves a woman who will be a new player in the alleged sex scandal.

Densuk described this woman as “someone who lives in Maryland, maybe in Baltimore.” Densuk
says, “the woman used to be a White House employee.”

Asked if the information concerns a sexual encounter this woman claims to have had with
the
president, Densuk would only say, “it’s more complex than that. It’s very detailed.”

Densuk would not say how special prosecutor Kenneth Starr knew about her. She said she was
stunned when investigators from his office knocked on her door, delivering a subpoena.
Densuk said
she’s “not a willing witness, she didn’t seek them out.” Densuk said when she received the
subpoena, she wrote to former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, who, Densuk says, helped
her find a lawyer.

Densuk will appear before the grand jury in Washington within a few weeks. She was
schedule to
appear on Tuesday, but did not, because, she says, she was under too much stress. If she
does
testify, her credibility may come under attack. Densuk has been treated at Sheppard Pratt
hospital
for what court documents describe as “a complex psychiatric disorder”.

She claims to be 24 years old. But high school administrators in Baltimore and Perry Hall
say she
was a student between 1974 and 1977.

Densuk also a criminal record of theft and credit card forgery.

Asked today how anyone can believe what she has to say, Densuk said, “I’m willing to take
a
polygraph. I’ve had hard times in the past. But, she said, I have my life together now.”

Who is Sherrie Densuk? She was born in Annapolis and raised in Baltimore. She is a
self-proclaimed playwright, songwriter, and aspiring actress. We don’t know exactly what
she might
say to a grand jury, but we do know something about her past. In May of 1990, she was
tried on
charges of theft in Baltimore County, and given probation before judgment. At the same
time, in
New York, she faced charges of forgery and petty theft and was found guilty. In June of
1991,
Densuk was found guilty of credit card misuse in Baltimore and put on probation. In May of
1994,
Densuk was charged with resisting arrest and attempted escape in New York. In May of 1996,
the
charge against Densuk was telephone misuse against a neighbor in Baltimore County. That
case
wasn’t prosecuted. In July of 1996, a Baltimore judge found she had violated her probation
in the
credit card case.

Other court documents at that time show Densuk had been treated at Sheppard Pratt
hospital. The
documents say an evaluation revealed she suffered from a complex psychiatric disorder. In
the
opinion of her therapist, the documents say, Sherrie Densuk expressed delusional thoughts
about her
talents and abilities, fueling greater disappointment as she fails to fulfill her dream.

Towson lawyer Alan Bussard represented Sherrie Densuk on some of her court cases during
those
years. Bussard says he has no idea what connection Densuk might have to the Clinton
investigation.
But Densuk did mention President Clinton in a rambling letter she wrote to a Baltimore
judge in May
of 1996. In it, she writes:

There were even presidents whose behavior was considered unethical or criminal, like Nixon
for Watergate, Reagan for Irangate, and now the Clintons with Whitewater and other legal
problems, yet they always get away with everything since they are in a position of power.

Bussard eventually withdrew as Densuk’s lawyer, because, he says, “I found out through the
course
of speaking with Ms. Densuk [that] she was recording my conversations, either on the phone
or in
person without my consent.
