Sincere fuckyous to everyone. All this time, I have been thinking
that "I dont rightly know" was the catchphrase of a Coronation Street
character.

It turns out that the catchphrase of Mavis Riley (later Mavis Wilson)
was "I dont really know".

I have now learned (thank you) that "I dont rightly know" is from a
Monty Python film.

A clip of Mavis saying her catchphrase is proving elusive, but Les
Dennis was famous for his impression of her saying it.

https://youtu.be/n1QYx2E222Y

And now I cant find a clip, or even a qvott, of it from MP! Google
prompts the spelling "I don rightly know" but then doesnt deliver.

Perhaps it is spelled out in an accent? But Google usually copes with
that.

Perhaps it only occurs in the DAR version?

Wouldnt be the first time.

The thing is, other boards/forums mention them (both Mavis and the MP
qvott).

I just draw a blank when it comes to getting clips.

Maybe DAR is leaking?

I thought I got one of Mavis though. Was it a fever dream? Maybe I
havent ps0ted it yet?

Didnt your little brother march around the house, arm out in front,
saying in an approximation of a metallic voice, "I am a DAR leak"?

It was worse than that. We had a sink plunger.

In the end we had to have the dog bury it. :|

Oh god. :(

Granny had a sink plunger but noone would have dared touch it.

Come to think of it, I have a sink plunger. Its unfeasibly big for
the size of the sink and basin I have. But I dont think its a toilet
plunger. Never been used. For DAR leaking or anything else. Unless
you count falling out of cupboards where it has been uncomfortably
stowed.

In case it exterminated them?

Or in case *she* exterminated them? :(

How is that even possible? Doesnt it stand on its plungy bit at the
back out of the way?

Possibly.

>Or in case *she* exterminated them? :(

No, its more that it lived (AIR) in the garage, which was full (AIR)
of toxic, webby, and generally terrifying stuff. It didnt look the
way it did in the ironmongers catalogue, put it that way.

Its taller than the shelf clearance. Its just sort of pushed in and
being held by some boxen.

I think all garages are like that. Full of rarely needed tools used
even more rarely still because they are home to entire colonies of
TsWDTA. :(

Ah, the old "taller than the shelf" ploy. Also known as the "Instant
Drummond". :|

You are not kidding. I think a bag full of carrier bags has crept
into the Drummondspace created by the sink plunger.

If youre the protagonist in a whole bunch of horror films maybe you
should just, I dunno, die out?

Carriers bag are awesome! *So* useful. And they practically store
themselves!

I did the fold, triangle fold, secure with handles on a big Iceland
carrier bag last week! And I did it ON A MOVING BUS! The one with
the two dogs and the fritening Ear Hat on it!

You have to watch, though. After enough years, some types of carrier
bags get flaky and unplasticky and arent so useful.

Such dexterity.

But theyll be buried at the back of the cupboard and long since
forgotten about by then!

HAH! I got a bag of bags out of the cupboard and have been reusing
them! I also have a bag of cotton bags (tote bagz).

Very handy cove, your cotton tote bag. Folds/rolls up and stows away,
strong, washable, useful beyond their designed purpose, too. :)

item of shopping to wrap round my unfinished sahalad box to keep it
closed for bringing home.

Fair enough! It wasnt really a problem. Just something that made it
all simpler. Lucky to have unfinished salad to take home.
