when running Wizardry 2 - Knight of Diamonds - what was the method for
transferring characters from Wizardry 1 to Wizardry 2 (when running on
Windows XP - or any modern machine?)

I recall there was a way to do it (I had done it before, like 10 years
ago!) but now I can't recall what you needed to do.

In Wiz I, there is a utilities menu, that does have a 'move
characters' option, but it requests to put in a source and a target
scenario disk. Since this is all obviously on one hard drive, how do I
tell it to move to wiz2.dsk?

I've never tried this (Never played anything prior to Wiz6), but have
you tried a virtual Floppy Disc?

Ah, you see there are pieces of software that let you mount (or create)
a file as a virtual floppy disc. You can give it the usual drive letter
(A:/B:) and most programms should have absolutely no problems to handle
this like a real floppy disc. And to change the disc, you just mount a
new image-file. You can get such a software driver here, for example:

Of course you still need the scenario discs as image files. Can you
create them within the game from a formatted floppy disc?
