So, um yeah, was just thinking of you all out of the blue and was wondering if anyone was left, or maybe if anyone comes by in the future like me and reads this. [It's me Rob!]

To anyone who is still out there would love to catch up. Usenet's sort of dead though.

As for me I ended up married to the most beautiful and wonderful person in the entire world and we've been married for about a year and a half now. She's an animator from Australia and we've recently started our own media company and we're planning to publish the first issue of our comic book in the near future. Also we rescued a maltipoo from the local ASPCA shelter in October and he's the cutest and most wonderful ever, objectively speaking of course. He's currently serving as VP of cuteness for our new company. His current duties are being cute and making sure his mommy and daddy don't sleep in too late.

Anyways, yeah, if you're around add me on facebook. Don't know how much longer Google Groups will be around.

Hey Mark! Hey Jerk-O! It's good to see at least a couple of old friends still hanging around. I honestly didn't even thing Google groups was still a thing until I googled alt.roundtable. I've been hanging out on Reddit lately, which reminded me of Usenet, which brought me back here :)

I still check all the old newsgroups irregularly. alt.games.diablo,
alt.games diablo2 and alt.games.warcraft a bit more often. Usually
whenever I actually turn my PC on which sometimes doesn't happen much
as I use my macbook for pretty much everything except gaming these
days, and don't game that often.

Congrats on a fine choice of wife. Just because I'm Australian
doesn't mean I'm biased or anything though! ;p

Here I am, almost exactly 14 months later. I was wondering the same thing myself. I caught up with Rob a bit on Facebook. Has anyone heard from any of the other old regulars? Twenty years is a long time on the internet and I haven't had any luck tracking anyone down.

Rob! Hello from Celleste, far in the future.

My daughters (all grown up now) told me I could get Diablo to play on my Windows 10 maching from gog.net! I've started a SP character and am stuck at Lazarus so I thought I'd check into the old forums to see what our solutions were back then. The old halls seem preeetttty dusty and creaky.

Anyway, hello from Celleste! Miss the old times. :-)

Going to start a multi-player character soon. Would love to find some old buddies to play with on b.net.

I possibly haven't checked this newsgroup in a year or so and when I
do there's a post from just a day or so ago, how lucky!

I haven't played D1 in years. It's certainly tempting to take it for
a spin again. Though I do remember from previous times that the slow
walking around town can be a bit mind numbing these days.

I did make a Justus facebook group and there's a few faces in that you
might recognise, Ald and SvH were around way back when I believe.
There's also a few people that I think were more from the WoW days.
Not that anything much happens in it. It's a super secret group so
it's not supposed to show up from a search and you need to connect on
facebook to someone already in the group. Not much use if you don't
have a facebook account though.

There's also a discord Justus group if you use that, that is similarly
quiet and full of WoW people as well. ; )

And I can get into battle.net chat, but it says there are udp issues
which seem like they'll be a pain to fix so I suspect I won't even
try. Can still start a direct cable connection game fine though,
apart from having to kill the explorer process so the colours don't go
all trippy. Then have to log out using the taskmanager since explorer
isn't running. There's a .bat file around that automates starting D1,
stopping explorer and starting it again when you quit but as
convenient as it would be, finding it again isn't, so I'm just playing
Mahjong instead. :)
