My landlord called today and wants me to do a website for his company! :)
It was quite a compliment because he said he knows several web designers but
didn't want anybody but us to do his. Plus my ex-B-I-L wants me to do one
for his church. Hopefully that'll give me a couple of good reference sites
to start looking for more business.

Yeah, I second that! I think it is wonderful Shell and probably the first
step to starting your own business. You go girl!
Hey I know that in our state the PCSW (Permanent Commission on the Status of
Women) have special help for women starting a business.

Sure. :) I'll probably email the link to whoever is interested instead of
posting it though. Somehow I've got a bad feeling about letting some people
know who my landlord is. :/ Thanks you two! :)

Danke! :) I'll email it once it's up. (When it gets up depends on whether
my ISP *ever* gets their servers up properly. We've been down more than up
this week! "Always on" my @$$.....)

Not a bad idea. I'd looked into that before when I had the real estate idea
(which would've taken money that I just don't have and couldn't get).
Luckily I won't have any out of pocket expenses doing his website. It's
just straight labor. I can do the work, I just hate marketing. Hopefully
they help with that sort of thing.

Congrats Nunya:

Maybe you should be working for yourself instead of "a Boss." Have you ever
done any interfacing with databases on your web designs. As Pete says, let us
know your progress and the new addresses of your created URLs.

Kathleen -- who is expanding Property Management Biz --> Building without the
foul partner, decided to forge ahead. (see previous post several months ago...)
But still seeks Software Development work, knows the market it tough right now,
too!!

Good, I look forward to it. I read about a woman in my state who started
like you and now she has to turn down work she has got so much.

Yeah...I saw your post to Courageous about the problems you were having.

During our heatwave transformers were blowing left and right, so who knows?

Yeah, I know how that goes.

I'm sure they will have some resources available that you hadn't thought
about. It comes down to networking in situations such as yours.
