Maggie Trudeau who was married to Cdn PM Pierre Trudeau when she had an
affair with Ron Wood in 1977 has admitted to being mentally ill for
years. Trudeau also had a picture of her showing off her vagina in the
Studio 54 nightclub that later made its way onto a DOA album cover. She
was typical of the vacuous substance abusing bimbos that drifted into
the Stones circuit during the 70's.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OTTAWA (CP) - Margaret Trudeau says she endured bipolar depression for
years and is urging fellow sufferers to step forward and seek
treatment.

The former wife of the late Pierre Trudeau says she tried to hide her
condition even as it eroded her two marriages. She sought treatment
only after the accidental death of her son Michel Trudeau in 1998 and
the death in 2000 of the former prime minister.

She says her condition led to a rollercoaster life alternating between
deep depression and inappropriate mood swings.

During her marriage to Trudeau, she was notorious for a series of
escapades, which she suggests were the result of her mental state.

Trudeau says she slipped into post-partum depression after the birth of
her second son, Sasha.

OH! The sanctimonious, self confessed religious fanatic, drug addict, alcoholic
and rip-off artist Greg Carr condemns someone else because they suffered from
being Bi Polar and had post partum depression! Both of which are medical
conditions, not character flaws like he obviously possesses.

So what? Being Bi Polar is a relativley common affliction which is treatable
and it's certainly less common than adultery which is practised by all ranges of
political backgrounds, but most often by religious converts or the deeply
devout, according to studies (People like you, Greg).

Now, what about your mental illness? Why haven't you taken any action to be
treated?

Maggie's in good company, including Winston Churchill, Peter Gabriel, Beethoven,
Robert Campeau, Buzz Aldrin, Theodore Roosevelt, Charles Dickens and quite a few
more (some below).

I could have used thorazine years ago when I suffered hyperthermia but
the folks at RCH were too incompetent to figure that out.

Any reason your a Margo Sinclair fan?

You said you used to do drugs, and since you slander anyone else who used to
use drugs as a 'drug addict', why do you feel that doesn't apply to you? Could

Women who are convicted of Adultery should be publicly flogged and then
publicly executed because they have violated The Seventh Commandment.
God cannot tolerate women being sluts.

Mental Illness is no excuse, in fact the mentally ill deserve to be
flogged and executed too.

The Bible is the Truth!

you poor dumb son-of-bitch. I'm not unemployed. I don't work. I just paid
my quarterly installment on my taxes and I'm happy to be able to do it.
I've had a lovely afternoon out on the lawn tractor enjoying the sun and

Getting a job doesn't guarantee you anything. Have you heard of the
working-poor?
Your living on the beneift is of wealth distribution now. WHo do you think
beneifits from the expenditures of government? Welfare and social programs
only take up a small prtion of the annual budget. Even someone as ingnorant

health and education. WHy not take a few minutes out of your sweating for a
living and look it up? If we could do it I'd be more thanhappy to have
younot pay taxes and not beneifit. Of course that would mean the cost of
hiring someone to watch everything you do, decide if you've consumed any
public resources and shoot you like a dog if you do. After all fair is fair;

You keep sweating.

Didn't make anything up. That's all it can be: there's numerous
instances in the Bib. of people fucking, and it the only time
it's adultery is when they try to claim it didn't happen.

From a functional point of view this holds water: men who
have been lied to about who "Daddy" is are serious fuckheads.
Nothing about themselves makes sense, and this poses serious
problems for the rest of us.

The above post is completely silly, but it is an entry point for me into this thread.

On the one hand, I admire Margaret Trudeau for bringing mental illness out of the closet and
promoting the idea that those who suffer from it should admit it and seek treatment (e.g. like
alcoholics admitting to being alcoholics), but on the other hand it is a huge defeat for
mentally healthy feminists fighting against the "glass ceiling" in the corporate and political
world. The main reason that there are so few female presidents of steel companies is that the
predominantly male boards of directors know that women can always fall back on that whole
"my-female-hormones-made-me-crazy" excuse, i.e. the excuse that the very fact of being a female
makes an employee untrustworthy by definition. Nothing against Margaret Trudeau, because I think
that the death of a child would be an inconceivable challenge to anyone, male or female, and all
Canadians should be supportive of her for that reason alone, but I wonder how Canadians would
have dealt with it if she had come out and said that she was always fully sane at some level,
but made some bad decisions in the past due to her youth and inexperience, as opposed to
promoting the "inherent potential hormonal mental sickness of females" excuse.
I wish nothing but the best for Margaret Trudeau, and applaud her championing the cause of the
mentally ill, but I feel strongly that she should not become a negative stereotype that thwarts
the efforts of fully competent and mentally healthy women who are trying to break through the
"glass ceiling" that male chauvinists preserve with the help of such stereotypes.

Adultery = the breech of the holiness(separate/apartness) of the marital vow of
fidelity.

PERIOD.

That's a separate issue -- Dishonesty is a breech of an implicit social
contract. . .

sounds to me like you are trying to justify some of your own opinions.
Women are some what under represented in the senior ranks because they have
had something less than 100 years of trying to get there. What year did
women become a person under the law in Canada? Not that long ago. In large
parts of the world women are still treated as trade goods. Lets face it men
are afraid of the magic of what's between a woman's legs. No man can make
another human but just about every woman can. Up until recently no man could
ever be sure that a particluar child was his but the mother could. If
you're going to leave everything you've stolen over your lifetime to your
son you wan to be damn sure he isn't the blow by of the latrine cleaner who
happened to be in the room on morning while you were away and the old lady
had the hoots. So you treat your women like shit and lock me up and make
then servile if you can. That's enough to scare the living shit out of large
parts of the population especially in camel jockey land.
More power to Maggie. The fact that she never even now bad mouthed Lucky
Pierre for his apparent lack of support or compassion is a great credit to
her.
If there is any truth to the claim that the crazies and greatness go hand
in hand you'll on safe ground!

I don't see what most of the above has to do with what I wrote. As for the last part, it is
true that there is often a fine line between genius and madness (and sometimes the line isn't
even there), but for every great person that is crazy, there are a million crazy nobodies.
Mainly I was objecting to the link between female biology and insanity. For example, does a
hysterectomy cure hysteria? Is it a coincidence that the lunar cycle is about the same length as
the menstrual cycle, hence the word "lunacy"? Then again, male werewolves follow the lunar
cycle, if all those old B&W horror flicks are to be believed. Fact is, there are women who are
as hard as nails and can keep their cool in tough situations. Although I was never a fan of
British PM Margaret Thatcher's politics, she certainly changed the image of women as flighty,
giddy, and breaking under pressure.
I recall seeing a cartoon depicting some army personnel listening to some guy promoting the
view that women are not constitutionally suited for fighting, and one old general leans to the
other and says, "I guess that guy has never been married."
Good for Margaret Trudeau, whatever the case.

You old faggot , are full of shit. I can probably buy and sell you with
change left over. Your right I don't work I don't have to. That is not the
same as having not worked. Besides why would anyone want to work when
there's so much money to be made fleecing rubes like you.
You are the one that doesn't deal in facts. You just repeat the cant your
masters have told you to say. It is a real good thing your body is
programmed to shit whether you decide or not cause otherwise you'd explode
in a yellow cloud before you could figure out what to do.

Ok. U gonna say it's holy? Then hand off to _ALL_ asshole institutions
passing out licenses: what God has brought together No Man, or Human
Institution, has the Right to put apart.

And that means governments and churches.

Depends on what you define as insantiy. Personally I define rape as insane
behaviour but I know of no cases where castratd males have been convicted or
rape. MAYbe that doesn't establish a definitive link bewteen biology and
sanity. Besides it is a lot easier to link female bioligy to sanity that to
develop other linkages that might be useful.

Holy, in the Biblical Hebrew, doesn't mean "from God" it means "set apart" --
ie. marriage sets apart sexual relations to between these two contracted
parties. . .

What selling property shit?

DP> If I can't trust a woman to want me more'n you, she's yours.

I'm the same way. . .

As my dad has taught me:
-a piece of paper does not a marriage make
-a real marriage isn't made any more real through the piece of paper/ceremony.

Ok, so given that, why does society feel the need to pass out
permissions to fuck? Seems pretty tacky t' me.

Because, perhaps, society doesn't work for my dad or me?

And because the marriage contract provides some benefits to Canada as a whole,
and so historically we decided to reward/encourage this?
