without a doubt the most underrated album they ever did in my opinion....I
remember when it came out Rolling Stone gave it 5 stars.

I'd say Voodoo Lounge. I think it's a great album. Whether or not it's
outstanding or not is up for debate. I not, I'd go with Some Girls
then.

The Rolling Stones pretty much stopped being relevent after Exile, IMHO,
they've been coasting, with 1 or 2 interesting outbursts, since 72.

'72 is a long time ago...i'd say the last really great album was tattoo you
or voodoo lounge. underrated but great.

I dislike artists that strive for "relevence". how about just doing it?..ya'
don't dig it? press the button...

i do press the button. i can appreciate the fact that the Rolling Stones are
still around, but today they're interesting only an exercise in macabre
fascination, i.e. "how long can they possibly go on?", much the same sort of
exercise that used (?) to be played with Ted Kennedy, i.e. "How long before
some wacko out there shoots 'the last Kennedy'?"

I can honestly say I never would have thought I'd feel this way about them way
back when. they still put out the odd interesting song, but it's foolish to
believe that they've done anything of real consequence--artistic or
otherwise--for ages. sure, they can be entertaining, but IMHO i expect much
more from them--they demanded to be taken seriously years ago and I took them
at their word. "entertaining" i expect from the Kinks, or Peter Noone, or even
McCartney. nothing against entertainment by itself, but compared to artists of
their peerage, like Dylan, who are not only still doing it, but doing it with
relevance as well as being entertaining, the Rolling Stones are strictly
cabaret these days and, IMHO, have been since Still Life tour. so i do press
the button olompali4.

Some Girls. The songs all work together very well. The album screams New York
City. Tattoo was interesting, especially the fast/side slow side, but the
overall quality of the songs and the album as a complete package isn't up to
Some Girls.

Worst: Dirty Work.

Some Girls. Undercover was also good, but not outstanding.

It's a bit of a stretch to pick a greatest hits album for the last best. I
would go with Bridges To Babylon.
