Yuo're actually confusing two different recordings, "It's All Right" by
the Impressions and "But It's Alright" by J.J. Jackson, which is the
record covered by Huey Lewis.

The last time this topic surfaced, I believe we reached the conclusion,
after an extended and arduous discussion, that Lewis has covered both
"It's All Right" and "But It's Alright." Huey Lewis is not an artist
appropriate for this newsgroup, so please let this aspect of the
discussion end.

Actually, I'm not...It's All Right (Curtis/Impressions) *was* covered by Huey on the
Tribute to Curtis album....
...but it's all right. Thanks, anyway.

Unless I'm sadly mistaken, Hewey Lewis & News did versions of both "But
It's Alright" on Four Chords & Several Years Ago CD and "It's Alright"
(possibly accapella) on the tribute to Curtis Mayfield CD.
Mac
Thanks.

Yeah, that's on the Time-Life Rock & Roll Era/Axes & Saxes CD.

Doug's going to answer his own post here. A couple of people have
mentioned the Axes and Saxes release by Time-Life, which includes
Percolator. I checked the CDConnection database, and there are several
other compilations that include that track. One is by K-Tel,however, so
I can't be sure that it's the original version, as opposed to a (dreaded
and to be avoided) "new stereo recording."
