The thing about Matthew Trippe seems like a total bullshit, every interview from Theatre of Pain years totally proves that Nikki was the real Nikki, not some psycho mental case Trippe guy. Some of those who saw their Theatre of Pain or Shout at the Devil shows and/or talked to the guys can doubtlessly say that it wasn't Trippe, it was the real Sixx. He is an asshole, but he wasn't ever replaced by anyone.

I do remember reading a gig review of motley Crüe in a music magazine (sorry I can’t rememdr which one) in the mid 80s where the reviewer said that people in the crowd were complaining because one of the members onstage looked like an imposter dressed up as one of the original members.

I worked at the Sunset Strip Tattoo when Matthew Trippe came in with Doc. Doc paid a load of money to get Matthew tatted like Nikki Six. I am an artist and tat designer. I also did the original design for Dr Feelgood. Not the finished canvas, that was Kevin Brady.anyeays Matthew wrote most of Girls Girls Girls lp. It had a few carryovers from Theater of Pain. If you listen to Crue's first 2 records then Dr Feelgood they have that heavy dull sound whereas Girls has a bright polished heavy sound. That is all Trippe baby. If Tripe had not gotten put in jail he might have still been with Crue as Nikki Six. But Doc would have yo explain who Matthew was as he was afraid the whole Nikki/Matt thing would blow ip in his face.
