Yeah, whatever. What shit is that?! Metallica fuckin' ripped
off Megadeath! You guys are such losers to not see the truth.
If Jamyz is such a good song-writer, how come he can't come up
with an original song? Not only does he steal MegaDave's riff
but he makes the song a standard anti-Christian song, something
that every fucking metal group has done. The Black album shows
how low Metallica has gone. Even Victory is better than this shit
(and Victory is a pretty fuckin' stupid song)! At least Dave steals
riffs from bands with their permission (i.e. DiamondHead's The Prince).
Let's face it, Dave Mustaine rulz!!!

And don't forget Four Horsemen
\
Buttsurfer
If the song was written about Jaymz' mother's death, (and I am sure that
is one of the main reasons) then why isn't he the least bit remorsefull.
The song is dark and is targetted at Jesus and Christian faith rather
than at his mother's personal beliefs and her death. The song seems to
attack any
belief that Jesus can in fact heal people:"The healing Hand held back by
the deepened nail". Jaymz also seems to make a mockary of Jesus on the
cross and how God the Father failed to save him. That is the impression I
get. Whether this is "anti-Christian" is for people to decide. As for me,
I think Jaymz believes in God but completely doubts the motives and
intentions of the Christian faith (ie Leper Messiah) He may even believe
in Jesus But he sure as hell doesn't believe God is perfect. God cannot
be perfect if he fails.

"Cheer up, FUCK!" Jaymz (Seek-Binge and Purge)
Both songs start with bass, but that's about all. There's virtually NO similarity!!
There are closer ones than that, which you've probably realised, but I'll
mention them anyway..
Four Horsemen and Mechanix are virtually identical, but mechanix is faster.
Call of Ktulu and the intro to Hangar 18 use the same riff.
Cheers,
Craig.

I've never heard of this band. Did they cover the MEGADETH song, "A Tout Le
Monde"? Wait a minute! I forgot. You're an idiot because you couldn't
spell Megadeth right. And in your fucking sig too. Man, so many fuck ups on
this damn newsgroup. I mean, you couldn't even make the standard spelling error like Megadeath. I mean, what kind of a dick quotes a group and can't fucking
spell their FUCKING name right!!! Buy a clue.

You're just fooling yourself. The God That Failed and Leper Messiah

If Metallica was so fucking pro-Christian, then why the hell would they release
these songs that so obviously portray Christians in a negative light.

I have to agree with you on Megadeth not ripping of Metallica. Let's face it,
RIP came out prior to Black, and interviews have stated, that God that Failed
wasn't one of the first songs from Black to be written. The possibility that
Dave copied a demo of James' is non-existent. The opposite scenario in my
opinion is not likely either. Of course James might have been inspired
by Dawnpatrol, but that's far from copying it. Furthermore James would
realize the stupidity of doing something that obvious. In the end I think
it all boils down to the fact, that there is only so many ways, that you
can combine powerchords AND coincidence.
As to Metallica's alleged downfall - that's where our views differ. God that
Failed is not anti-christian. It merely expresses a boy's dissapointment in a
mother, that died on him instead of trying every possible means of cure from
cancer. Hence Metallica didn't copy a concept used be every other band in
the industry, and the never will. They have always been on the cutting
edge of fresh songwriting, and they will continue to.

First I gave you the benefit of the doubt and read some friendly sarcasm into
your post, but to no avail. That post was simply unnessecary rude. So what
if someone makes at spelling error, it's no big deal, and if it annoys you
why don't you drop the person in Q a friendly mail drawing his att. to
the problem.
What you got to remember is, that most people on the net don't speak
english as their first language... Give us a break!

Metallica don't portray Christians in general in a negative ligth. Lepper
Messiah is about the "pay to pray"-mentality of some TV-preachers (like
Maiden's "Holy Smoke" and Phil Collins "Jesus he knows me" (I think), and as
it has been stated God that Failed is about James' hurt when his mother died.

Your comparison doesn't apply here since Dave was permitted by Diamond Head
to copy The Prince (which Metallica recorded too).
Errrrm, do you have some sort of problem understanding lyrics????
Leper Messiah is targeting those pseudo-christian Tele-Evangelists who
are just out to make a quick buck. "...make your contribution and you'll
get the better seat... Lie Lie Lie Lie..." (or similar). I can find no
anti-christian message in the song, it simply despises the hypocritical
attitude of these people.
And before you write back and start shouting abuse; I am a Christian, so
I guess I'm in a fairly good position to see if its insulting myself, and
I really can't say it does. This point applies to 'The god that failed'
as well. Some groups have these beliefs about no-medicine, which is just
not supported by Christianity. Luke, who wrote two of the main books in
the Bible was a doctor! For that reason, I do not see the song as
offensive. It is merely trying to make a point about these groups.
James
(as a footnote, don't take me as saying that God doesn't have the power
to heal. My sister was knocked over in a road accident, and should have
died. Yet somehow she survived. 200 people in my church were praying
for her to recover and she did. I have heard similar stories. Judge for
yourself)
I think he's just trying to say that if you expect that "God" will
heal you literally, and that if you die it's because "He" wants you to, "He"
will fail.
The word "God" has a different meaning for everyone, but no one can really
completely understand and know for sure what "It" exactly is. James seems
to deny that people should think that whatever happens to them is the will
of "God" and they shouldn't do anything against it. I think I agree with
him.

So, what you're saying is that every single metal group's singer
has had his/her mother die from a disease that medicine could have
cured, but s/he chose faith healing and died? Boy, what a coincidence!
I didn't know that one!

I know that Leper Messiah is an attack on Tele-Evangelists and maybe my
opion on the song is a bit too radical. But regarding the God that Failed
I have to ask the question of who Jaymz is attacking in the song. His
mother's belief or Jesus' power to heal? I would argue that the song is
more of an attack on Jesus than on his mother. Some may argue that it is
an attack on Christian Scientists and I might agree with that. But unless
one studies the motives and history of the song, the song can easily be
seen as an attack on Christianity whether it was intended or not. Taking
the song for face value, which many people do, can lead to the
interpretation of the song as being anti-Christian. The verse, "the
healing hand held back by the deepened nail" is aimed at attacking
Jesus' divine powers. If this verse is about Jaymz' mother than I must be
looking at the wrong song.
