I know this has nothing to do with this newsgroup, but it's just a question. 2
years ago (or so...), I went to see Pantera in Quebec City. Phil Anselmo said
(something like) this: "Does anybody in here know Dave Mustaine!?", and the
crowd started cheering... Then he said: "Tell him I want to Kick his @!&* ass
right here, now!!!". I thought that was really prick of him, and although I
hear Dave can be a real Jerk, he was basiclly insulting his own fans. Does
anyone know of the feud between those two?.. Thanx!

P.S.
Metallica kicks ass! (Including the Black Album!)

Dave Mustaine was saying in interviews and such that Pantera stole the
sound that he and Jaymz created in Metallica and that Dave brought
with him into Megadeth, and apparently Phil didn't like that too much.
I don't know why he would be offended by that...Its True ! ! !

When Megadeth released Youthanasia on Halloween 94, MTV aired an
interview with Mustaine about the metal scene and shit like that at that
time. Mustaine replied that he wasnt very content with how things were
going cause groups were being jack asses coping other groups styles such
as the one Mustaine supposedly invented with Metallica in the early 80s.
Then the MTV girl asked him what groups are those. He replied groups
such as "Panther in spanish". So there probably might have been
something going on between them, but as metal is going these days, any
sort of publicity shit will be done to grasp the attention of everyone.

From what I heard, Dave said Pantera pretty much copied everything from
Megadeth. Which, IMHO, would have to be untrue since Pantera is actually
a quality band.

Yeah supposedly, Mustaine knows some type of martial art, maybe kickboxing
I think but Im not sure, so he may infact be able to defend himself.
However, Phil I heard used to box and sizewise my friend you cant compare
the two. Phil is a monster and I think he can sure as hell kick
Mustaine's ass. It would truly be an interesting fight though between
two loud mouths who cant shut their asses up and who every time they
speak they at least piss off 100 dudes from their comments. Hopefully one
of them will get his mouth shut by someone else either Phil from
anti-nazi groups or Mustaine from Capitol Records for fucking up their
reputation with their last two stinking albums.

Hmm...this doesn't have much to do with music, but my money's on Mustaine.
Anselmo's bald and tatooed, but Mustaine knows how to fight.

Megadeth, White Zombie and Pantera came to Dayton a while back (MD headlining).
Zombie and Pantera really put on a show. Megadeth came out and after some
songs Mustaine got pissed stopped the show then left the stage for about ten
minutes. I lost a lot of respect for Megadeth that day.

Needless to say Phil's "weed-smoking fuck'em-up for the fans" attitude kinda
clashes with Dave's "I'm dry, married with child, and only doing this for
money" attitude. Almost anything could be read-into from that...

Yes, I do. There was a rather questionable journalist who was
spreaidng the rumor that Phil Anselmo was soem kind fo racist, and
apparenlty Kerrang! had some sort of "trial" in which they asked other
musicians what they thought of Phil Anselmo. Anyway, I think Mustaine
says that Anselmo's a racist(I got all this info from a recent issue of
Metal maniacs, so I didn't actually see the issue of Kerrang!) So that's
probably the reason Phil wants to kick Dave's ass.

Yup... here is the feud:

Phil is an asshole... Dave is an asshole... when two assholes meet the
shit hits the fan.

I saw Pantera in Salt Lake City, Utah and Phil Anselmo was rippin on
Megadeth who had jut been there a week before and didn't sell out the
arena. Pantera did, they were kissing up to Metallica and Rippin on
Megadeth and Dave Mustaine

Anyday. Have any of you ever seen Mustaine live? He SUCKS. Dont
misunderstand me, I love Megadeth (in the studio), but Dave ruins their
live preformance. And Pantera is probably the 2nd best show I've ever
seen. (2nd only to Metallica)

you misinterpret what i meant, see i ment literally...I know that Dave is
a black belt in either kickboxing or mantis kung fu(cant remember..might
be both), and his sensei has been listed as one of the 10 most dangerous
men in the world, so i know he would be the victor in a fight with phil,
or almost anyone for that matter.

As for a live performance, i cant say because ive only seen megadeth live
and i dont know what you mean by saying he sucks live, he rocked when i
saw him

The problem with Dave is that he actually has to sing songs, not just shout,
and he can't really handle it.

Slayer is absolutely the best live. They don't miss a beat, they don't talk a
lot, and they just pour tremendous energy into everything.

I'll second that. I saw Pantera in September '94 in Manchester, UK.
Fucking insane show or what?! I saw Megadeth in Leeds in March '95 and
although it wasn't a bad show, it did verge on the boring side of
things. The sound quality was shit as well, really boomy.

Sorry, but there's people who earn their living from the martial arts,
they train for hours everyday. Given that Mustaine does not compete for
a living I doubt he is one of the 10 deadliest men alive (BTW wouldn't
that conveniently make his sensei also one of the 10 deadliest men?).
As for Anselmo v. Mustaine, well, as much as I like Pantera, if one guy
has extensive knowledge of fighting and the other guy doesn't, my money's
on Mustaine, but there's really only one way of knowing for certain.

I have seen Pantera and Megadeth live, BOTH kicked ass but I'd have to go
with Anselmo. I dunno, maybe he just seems more insane cos he isn't
restrained by a guitar like Mustaine is !!!
