So what you people are saying is before Megadeth sold out when it came to
Countdown....(Which I dont find as a terrible album personally) what does
their new stuff sound like? I heard Cryptic Writings' song meanings and
titles are very juvieille and like lyrics for Gen Xers...that hate their
parents and want to revolt. Posing a question, did they sell out when they
made a song bout gun control? Or b4 that?

I love Megadeth, but I think they have lost their edge, that's all I am
trying to say here..

Cryptic Writings would actually sound a lot heavier if it wasn`t so over
produced, and any Megadeth fan bad mouthing Countdown needs there head
checked. All you Deth fans out there who play guitar and doubt the albums
status, should, pick up your guitar call your drummer friend around and bash
out a couple of there songs, you will find that it isn`t the songs that
aren`t heavy, it is the production of the songs. You only need to look at
the chord progressions e.t.c, e.t.c to see this. The only problem I have
with the album is the fact that Max Norman didn`t produce it.

And the album sound fucking great. So what you saying is that
if the new Megadeth album sounded like shit, it would be good.
What rock did you crawl out from under??

What's up with the term critics use called "musical credibility". They make it
sound like it's bad to be musically credible. They make it seem like the only
way to be musically credible is if your guitars have shitty tone, no one's ever
heard of you, you put out either your first album or have released many albums,
none having success. Critics need to get their heads outta their asses.
Wasn't Max Norman the guy that Dave hates for what he did on Youthanasia?
Megadeth seem to like the sound on CW. What's wrong with that?

Did Megadeth sell out? No. Metallica sold out. No questions asked.
Sometimes I think that Megadeth has lost its edge, but then I read Dave M. in
interviews saying "the next album will be much heavier", and I force myself to
believe that they can pull it off, because they are one of my favorite bands.
Personally, I was disappointed in Youthanasia AND Cryptic Writings. I felt
that the lyrics were less than what I feel Megadeth can write. It seems that
the music isn't as tightly focused on a single subject per song. But, I stil
think they are one of the most intelligent bands in this industry, no matter
what genre you listen to. I think that the heavy metal industry will come
back and be as popular as it was back in '87-'90, but I think bands should stop
worrying about what Mtv wants, what angers parents, what makes the most money,
and what kids are doing with their lives. If I wanted a public service
announcement, I'd subscribe to McGruff newsletters. I want to hear grim
shit.....like Pantera, Slayer and Six Feet Under. I wish more bands quit
trying to get 'mainstream' and listen to THEIR fans, the people who put them at
the top in the first place.

So, what you are trying to say is that you can't read on your own and that you
have half a brain. I think it's about time you look for yourself instead of
"reading" the notes that the kids pass to you. If Megadeth had even sold out,
they would have sold big, ya think?

And, what is be4 supposed to mean? Do you think you're an 3133+ hAX0r d00d?
Do you even know what the fuck an edge is in music?

Korn sucks. So does Barenaked Ladies.

The thing about Megadeth is, even if the sound isn't as heavy anymore, they
still come up with great riffs. As long as the guitar work is kick ass and
Dave stays true to his voice, meaning he doesn't change it up and end up
sounding retarted like some people, then they'll always be great, in my
opinion.
