My name is Barak Zalstein and I'm from I S R A E L (a small but powerfull
metal scene). I play the bass guitar for about a year and and I don't have
problems with slow stuff (Doom metal) but I'm really lost when I try to
play fast stuff (Like Morbid Angel etc.). Can anyone help me out?
If someone have bass tablature to Death metal songs it would help.
(I think I have a problem holding the Pick because I'm used to finger style)
I'd also like to know how to make the bass have a *GrindCore* sound.
Also, I have a cool Idea: People could post GIFs that are suitable for
tatoos (I'm personally sick from the D&D shit pictures on the tatoo studios)
What do you think about it?
Thanx.

Good plan... Could some bass player out there try to transcribe anything
deathy? It's really tough to find good heavy bass tabs, and I'm not quite able
to pick lines out by ear yet. It'd be nice to see Cynic, Death, Morbid Angel,
Obituary or Boltthrower, just to name a few. Also, if there's any interest,
I'll post tab (guitar and bass) for some older (and less complex) stuff like
Death's Primitive Ways, or some Obituary.
As for the Grind bass sound, the key element is to get a distortion unit for
your bass. The Ibanez Tube-Screamer is supposed to be a good one. If you can't
find one, then try to overdrive your amp. Crank the pre-amp and cut the output
level. That should dirty up your sound some. Hope this helps.

there's interest here - especially for Obituary - yeah -

Rat's are really good on bass too; 'specially the red "Turbo Rat" box -

I think it was Guitar magazine that put out a special speed/death/thrash
issue a few months ago. It had guitar and bass tab for Sepultura's "Beneath the
Remains", Slayer's "Angel of Death", Obituary's "Slowly We Rot", an
Overkill song, and I believe a Napalm Death song. There were some others
but I don't have the mag with me. Keep posted here and in a day or two
I'll try to type up what I have (if I get some free time).
And for a good death/grind sound I have always liked the Boss HM-2
distortion pedal. It's a guitar distortion pedal but it gives its best sound
in the low range (lots of gain). It has high and low color mix knobs
for a variety of different sounds. I even mix it with other distortion
and overdrive stuff to get a _really_ heavy sound.
*and today only we're lettin' it go for just $99.95! That's right! $99.95!!!!"*
:-)
