Just bought "The music STILL does the talking" - ie the best of the Joe
Perry Project. Its taking some getting used to, and although Joe isn't the
best of vocalists, i prefer his material to the projects many lead singers.

Just wondered what everyone think/thought of the project in general?

I liked them to the point that I prefer to listen to their stuff over any post
70's Aerosmith. In fact I put Let The Music Do The Talkin' third overall to GYW
and Rocks when I rate all Aerosmith related stuff.
Brother, can you see the stars in the night
there's a road up yonder..far beyond the light..
It's heavy...Lay your burden down.

The first two JJP albums were great, where as the last one might as well
be used as a frisbee.
As far as their performances live, Joe still put on a great show. Hey
Prince? Wouldn't you say Joe put on a better performance than the
Aerosmith minus Perry/Whitford camp? I recall you saying that you saw
The JJP too.

Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic
cop.Your normal speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the
side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop heart. Make the
bastard chase you.

Well Brad , Joe's show musically was as good as an Aerosmith show but Joe in
those days looked pretty wasted in those days and was sort of a mummy as far as
stage movement. But musically they rocked my ass off.

I still play "I've Got The Rock-N-Rolls Again" on a regular basis. Nice
and raw, the way it should be. Not the slick studio creations of late i.e.
"Angel's Eye".

Good point. However I recall Tyler went through a " I think I am gonna
pass out now and fall off the stage" period. I guess no matter how you
flipped the coin in those 80-83 years ....No-one won.

Agreed.

Which aint half bad. But am I the only person that feels that " Once A
Rocker Always A Rocker" is a God awful opus?

Agreed.

I like this tune, it kinda grows on ya.

I didn't think Angels eye was particularly slick. I mean its good quality,
but times they have a changed. You have to have slick i suppose nowadays. -
you did back then - Nobody got the slightly crowdy-clashy nature of bootleg
in the press did they. But personally, it (as someone put it) "rocks my ass
off".

Let The Music Do the Talking is in my top 5 albums of all time- Joe may not be
a great singer but I like his vocals-His first album reminds me of aerosmith's
first- The singers Joe had with the project were no good-

Yeah crawf, I noticed that about Bootleg. anytime it is mentioned in the
press, it is mentioned as a failure or a poor quality work.

It Rocks MY ass off! don't know what the critics hear, though.

I think half the time, the critics are so far up their own arses that they
fail to see the point of something - Bootleg was crashy and crowdy because
it was supposed to be a.....
