what the...

"Carol used the experience from her battle with cocaine and whisky as a

I can't see her as a teenager touring with DC back in the 80's... unless
she's aged considerably...

cocaine and whiskey? Does this mean the band has experimented with the hard
nose candy?

You'll be happy to know that I just asked my Magic 8 Ball about this, and the
answer I got was "Ask Again Later". There's still hope.

How much is 300,000 pounds in American dollars? It does not seem like much
considering the wealth, I assume, Brain has accumulated. I know he does not
have the money of the Youngs but I am sure he is living fine.

What if he actually HAS been writing, but just not been credited and
reported to Ascap and such to reduce his divorce costs..... ;-)

If you didn't carefully notice, the Malcolm mentioned in the article is Malcolm
McDonald, NOT Malcolm Young... and seeing as she's Brian's ex, what better way
to get people to notice what she's saying than start mentioning AC/DC???

In yesterday's Washington Post Business section, the British pound is worth
$1.4 U.S. dollars. Thus Bob Fiddaman's annual salary is 22,500 pounds times
1.4. Now that makes me wonder how much someone like the fictitious Bridget
Jones from a certain movie makes in her job.
One thing nice about the U.S.: none of the class silliness!!! Education is
and isn't a factor since while a good portion go to four-year college, a good
portion also DON'T go to four-year college but either start off in
business/government and can take their time with college via local community
colleges and the small on-line college programs.

I have an interesting story about his ex wife....I don't really believe it
but I have a friend that lives in Sarasota Florida....I remember about ten
years ago he said he was hanging out with a bunch of people and Brians wife
was one of them. He said thatshe was all over him at this party and trying
to get him leave with her...I never believed it when he told me but my
frined used to work at Pier One Imports and said Brian used to come in there
all the time and so did his wife would come in after she met my friend and
flirt with him....I dunno..I think he was full of shit...

No mate,
The wedding last Saturday was his nephew.
Carol's getting hitched next week.
I think the fact Brian is still friendly enough with Carol to lend her his
Bentley for the wedding puts some holes into the notion that Brian doesn't
write lyrics anymore because of the cost which his divorce would incur. She's
had her settlement and she hasn't tried to go back to court for more - even
with BIB etc, notching up several million more sales (and the royalties that
Brian would have received as a result).

reality check?

I guess you're saying that I'm the only one
who can actually read around here? No wonder this NG is so boring...

The quote says specifically...

"Carol used the experience from her battle with cocaine and whisky as a
teenager on tour with ACDC to help Malcolm pull through a drying-out
programme."

I never said it was Malcolm Young... I don't give a hoot what the rest of
the statement says...

The point is that "Carol used the experience from her battle with cocaine
and whisky as a
teenager on tour with ACDC..."

I'm asking if anyone can shed any light on any drug use within the band at
any point in time,
especially around the time Brian joined until his divorce...

Careful Darren, you don't want to go discrediting one of the most popular
crack fantasies in NG history.

I doubt it, because I don't think anybody really gives a damn.

That is exactly the route that I went. 4 year college just didn't seem
like a great option for me. I chose to go to trade school, "Where a
phone call changed my life" as the ad says, and I hooked into
companies at a young age that trained me from within. I feel that
many of the kids that go to college(4 year) are not ready, and
therefore they do not make full use of their time(i.e. party their
brains out) and when/if they graduate, they are not ready to take on
the responsiblilities of choosing a career path. I have seen this
happen many times and it is a shame, because there are many kids out
there that are ready for college, but they cannot afford to go. There
are ways to succeed without going the college route, I'm living proof,
but it is a much tougher road.
How I got onto this tangent in this thread is beyond me, but it's a
subject that I find interesting.

Hmmmmmmm any drug use???
Over 25 years, a hard rock band doing world tours, some serious idle
time on their hands at times, and a whole bunch of leeches trying to
wedge their way into the band.........nahhhhhhhhh, there could not
possibly be any drug use.
