Of interest is that McConaughey also starred in the third Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation. (1995) which also stars Renee Zellweger and is considered the worst of the franchise.

Does Texas really want someone who is associated with the Texas Chainsaw Massacre to be governor of the state of Texas? When I first heard about McConaughey considerintg running, it had me giggling since won't the opposing political party run ads showing scenes from the first movie and the third movie with perhaps Leatherface chasing the girl be used as possibly how McConaughey would handle illegal immigrants? Would the scene of the girl screaming be used to be how Texas residents will react if McConaughey becomes governor in regretting him being elected Governor?
