Brian officially confirms that AC/DC is in Vancouver recording with
Brandon O'Brien. And contrary to some rumours Phil is still in the
Band.

Nice one Big Nate. Brian tells me that the film contains clips of the
songs and described the movie as really funny so I guess I'll invest.
By the way Hans Grottske, please feel free to issue an apology :>)

It would be really awesome now if they brought in Chris Slade to give
Phil a few pointers on drums... i.e. speed up the tempo and maybe use
those toms once in a while. Kick-snare, kick-snare, kick-snare, kick-
kick-snare with high hats gets a little old after a while.

Brian'll be speaking for the upcoming DVD with morning shows across
the country in the days coming, including Howard Stern...

They're releasing another DVD, too? I didn't know that.

this movie and recorded 3 new songs for it)

I would have to agree with you totally on the Chris Slade thing.
I missed him since the 90's as the drums need to have the power he puts into
them.
No disrespect to Phil but Chis just seemed to have the oooomph they needed
in the drums to back up the guitars.

Speak for yourself. Some of us prefer great minamalist drummers who play the
songs at the proper tempo.

I'm not so picky. Slade and Phil both have their strengths. Just give me a
goddam album, and I won't care if the one-armed dude from Def Leopard lays
down the beat.

If we got Phil playing like he played in 1979 and 1980, then I'd be
okay with that. But Phil Rudd Version 1995 or Version 2000 is a shadow
of what he once was. I don't think it's an issue of dimished skills
either. He plays just fine live on the old tunes but it's his studio
work on the last two albums that bores me to tears.

He does a lot of interesting and unusual (for him) stuff on SUL, so I don't
really know what you're talking about. When was the last time you listened
to that album all the way through and focused on the percussion?

He's bored me to tears since he first picked up a pair of sticks.
