In the studio version of Thunderstruck, the opening riff of Thunderstruck plays
throughout the entire song, with limited pauses. Even during angus' solo.
Also, I just bought "clipped" and the Thunderstruck video is poorly edited.
There are some scenes where Angus has his hat on, and then doesn't. and then
has it on again.....oh well, I'm not complaining, but seriously, now I know why
MTV doesn't play their video's, they are all (at least on clipped) just concert
scenes. With few exceptions with some kind of storylines, like in "AYR?" and
"TTWIWRR". I wanted to see somewhat of a music video, not concert footage
everytime, I could have just threw in my "No Bull", or Live at Donnington" for
the same effect. Clipped isn't a bad tape for the AC/DC fan, as a matter of
fact it is a must have, it's just "bad" as far as a compilation of music videos
is concerned. The previous opinion is that of AnGuSBoOM's and does not reflect
that of alt.rock-n-roll.acdc's opinions at all....it may not even be fact, so
please keep the flames to a minimum:)

Tape loops are used by tons of bands these days. Even during concerts you often
hear an instrument that isn't being played on stage. Also, many songs are double
and triple tracked, or at least the guitar (and often vocal) parts are.

It's the 90's, man!

The video does have some flaws indeed. I hate it when one of the key riffs
appear to be cranked by Cliff (they cut to him as if he's playing it). Also,
the hat on/off thing bothered me for awhile too. I do like the under shot of
Angus duckwalking. This video, despite some flaws, was huge in bringing the
band back. MTV actually played the hell out of it. Moneytalks then got
massive airplay.

That was no error - that was an excuse for a bassist to get in a video!

(kidding, relax...)

True. Almost every single rock band always double or triple track
songs and, on studio albums, AC/DC often double-tracked guitar parts during
Angus' solos (you can hear both Angus and Malcolm's guitars playing the riff).
Thank God, they never used tapes and the like during the live concerts.
That's why Thunderstruck, just for instance, doesn't have the Angus' intro
all over the song when played live. I'm pretty sure AC/DC never ever used
any tape when playing live, with of course the exception of the Hells Bell's
toll.

AC/DC always uses David Mallet to produce/direct their videos. The band
hates making them and Mallet stays off their case. For years the band would
not do videos other then live concerts with the concert sound. Have you guys
got the videos for FTATR, Put The Finger On You and BIB. They are rough
concert shots with a few cameras and live concert sound that does not come
across very well on TV. Finally, their Label talked them into doing videos.
First incarnation was Flick of the Switch which has them jamming in a
warehouse with new drummer Simon Wright. High Point--Malcolm breaks a sting
during the filming. Next was the Fly on the Wall videos which is a total low
point not even worth memtioning. The first video they put some effort into
was W made W. THey are a band that was around before Mtv and they don't care
much for them. As long as they keep putting good music who cares about the
Videos.
