Start with the early 80's compilation "No Remorse" (better then the other
many "best of" comps as it has all 4 "new" tracks from the best lineup),
then "Orgasmatron" followed by their first and arguably best live album "No
Sleep 'Til Hammersmith." If you make it through those, you can pretty much
pick and choose as just about every album has some great songs. FWIW, the
most recent album, "Inferno" is one of their best since the 80's. The only
one I'd avoid is "Iron Fist."
T.B.
I used to be one of those people that said "only their old stuff is any
good" and by "old stuff", I mean the first 4 albums. Of course I was wrong.
A friend put me in my place and I gave the "newer" stuff a chance and I do
believe it's better than their classic stuff.
My advice? I'd get the "Everything Louder Than Everything Else" or "Live at
Brixton Academy" double live disk sets and buy the studio albums based on
your favorite songs from those records.
Or if you want studio stuff, I'd start off with "1916". Just an all out
rockin' disk from start to finish. "Going To Brazil" and "R.A.M.O.N.E.S."
are two of the best songs ever written.
I think Tower may still have the "Rock n Roll", "Orgasmatron", & "Another
Perfect Day" reissues on sale for $14.99. Each one has a bonus live concert
disk on it.
You really can't go wrong with any Motorhead, whether it's their early stuff
or the last one, "Inferno".

So everyone thinks who hasn't given the last 20+ years of material a
chance.
This is the best "best of" to get:
A great sampling of their entire catalogue. Also, their newest - Inferno is
really good.

OK
20 songs....unless you order it from Amazon.co.uk...to almost the same
price, but with 40 songs...
Frank
Or you could try clicking the "See all 20 tracks on this disc" link on
the Amazon.com site's track listing...

OK
Lol....never noticed. I thougt it was some special US disc or something.
I got the cd and it`s actually all you need if you`re not a
die-hard-fan. You can also get the live dvd (can`t remember the
name...but it`s the one with the red cover...) to get right "motorhead
feeling".
Anyway, they`re actually a really good band. Too bad too many people
have always said: "Oh, crap band, crap musicians". Apart from Lemmys
limited voice, they`re actually great musicians. BUT, Lemmys voice
couldn`t be any different...if it were it wouldn`t be Motorhead, Raw,
unpolished...pure rock`n roll.
Exactly! As a fan of Rush and AC/DC, I'm in no position to complain
about Lemmy's singing.

OK
Funny story: I had a roommate who was talking to Lemmy about 2 years ago.
Started talking about how much he loved Motorhead and was such a huge fan.
Kept mentioning the older stuff to Lemmy. So Lemmy asked him, "What's the
last Motorhead album you bought?". He goes "Orgasmatron". Lemmy starts
flipping him off, saying "FUCK YOU! Just Fuck You!" ha ha ha Oh well, my
roommate's missing out...

Ace of Spades (1980) An absolute must-own; best of the Fast Eddie era;
Overnight Sensation (1996) Best record with the current lineup IMO, though
they've been very consistent overall;
Everything Louder Than Everything Else (1999) Though No Sleep 'Til
Hammersmith is the better known live album, this one has 25 great tracks,
including 3 from the hard to find, but also highly recommended Bastards
(1993);
Overkill (1978) Second best record of the Fast Eddie era.
The next level:
Another Perfect Day (1983) the only record with Brian Robertson on guitar,
and interesting if not quintessential. Funny Farm, Shine, Dancing on Your
Grave, all fantastic tracks.
Snake Bite Love (1998) Take The Blame is one of their best songs of the
1990's, and there's some interesting, more introspective tracks (Joy of
Labour, Dead and Gone) mixed with some real scorchers (Gods of War, Night
Side)
Orgasmatron (1986) Classic title track and "Deaf Forever", which you can
compare to "Hard as a Rock" riff-wise
Bomber (1979) Another great early record.

Overkill
No Sleep til Hammersmith
Everything Louder
Orgasmatron
Another Perfect Day
1916
Hammered
Or check out the excellent DVD - Stage Fright
No remorse is a good compilation up to the Orgasmatron line-up
They've been pretty consistent though for a number of years and the classic
line up is the line up they have now IMHO other good albums would be:
Bastards, Rock n Roll, We are Motorhead, Snake Bite Love, Overnight
Sensation, Bomber.

> Hey guys, I was wondering if there are any good Motorhead cd's you guys

Lots:
Ace of spades is a true metal classic. Bomber and Overkill, with the
Philthy, Lemmy and Fast Eddie lineup, are great too, one step below Ace of
spades if you ask me. Another Perfect Day is a great but underrated album
with former Thin Lizzy axeman Brian Robertson on guitars... A more slow-
paced, hard rock oriented effort, but the songs are great!!
I would also pick, from their 90's efforts, 1916 and Bastards... Especially
Bastards, a hard to get album, but it can blow your head off, mate...
The rest of the albums are just OK, if you can borrow them from a friend so
much the better, definitely I wouldn't spend a buck on those CDs, if I were
you, unless you are a die hard motorheadbanger.
Oh, and if you are fond of live albums, don't miss No sleep 'til
Hammersmith...
