For all the Bon Scott fans out there, the book "Highway to Hell, The
Life and Times of AC/DC Legend Bon Scott", by Clinton Walker, is now
on sale (at least in Australia and New Zealand). It has 324 pages and many
photographs (including one of his death certificate!). I have only just
bought though so I cannot yet comment on exactly how good it is.

Incidently, I have had a few discussions with people about the origins
of the AC/DC song "Carry Me Home". According to the discography in
this book it was released in March, 1977 (in Australia?) as the B-side to
the Dog Eat Dog single (serial number AP-11403). It also states that there
is an unreleased compilation album called "12 of the Best" - it shows the cover,
and includes a track list. This album was to have been released in 1978 but
at the last minute Albert Productions decided that a live album would be
better and released If You Want Blood!

Great... if i look at a world map, i see that Finland is just about
on the opposite side of the world compared to Australia and New Zealand...
I am sure that the book will be here before the end of the century, tho....

I actually think it has some of his best lyrics: "You ain't no lady but
you've sure got taste in men, that head of yours has got you by time and
time again..."

Will do. I will include it with a review of the book when I finish reading
it (probably another two or three days). In the meantime, if anyone wants to
have a guess at what the 12 tracks are (all from Let There Be Rock or ealier)
then go for it.

Incidently, the Biography of Bon is turning out to be damn good. It gives
heaps of insight into the bands earlier days (boldly going where no AC/DC
book has gone before) and explodes a few myths. But more of this when I
write the review.

Regarding your sig, I believe the lyrics are "... ma's own whipping boy."

But I could be wrong.

Maybe. I used a book called 'AC/DC Antology' as a source and it said 'mind
your weapon boy'. But the fact is that different books about the AC/DC
songs have somewhat different lyrics in them. BTW i would like to say to
all you guitar slingers that are into playing AC/DC to get a copy of
'Back in Black' -songbook that is 'a guitar tablature edition' (released
1990 from Amsco Publications) for it contains the tabs for all the
songs of the album. Very cool and easy to understand. Not to play tho :)
