How can they say that you aren't allowed pyrotechnics in robot wars on the
grounds of safety? Sergeant bash's flamethrower fell to pieces! it was
poorly secured, the armour came away easily as if it was only balanced on
the robot, the fuel canister fell out leaving the rubber fuel tube laying
bare to all sorts of cutting instruments...One snip and they could have been
some pretty fireworks. It's outrageous! How can they get away with it? That
surely wouldn't pass ANY health and safety regulations. I could make
something safer than that with my eyes blindfolded and one soldering iron
behind my back!
It has become apparent of late that the once mighty house robots are
pathetic in comparison to some of the competitors entries. With matilda and
bash regularly taking to naturism, running around the arena with their
circuits bare for all to see. And as for Killalot...He only wins because he
weighs about 2 tons over the weight limit.

Yes but it was built by the BBC Special FX dept. (They're obviously better
than all of us).

I know what you mean - How come if an entrant get a little bit scored they
get put in the security pen, but when Sir K has a serious fire it carries
on? Surely that breaks all Health and Safety rules? Perhaps the BBC would
like to answer this question here? Where we can all see it?

Did it? I didn't notice it in the final.

It carried robopig onto the flames and when it came of Sir K's internals at
the front were well ablaze. They backed it off to the side, but when Napalm
and Stegasawus battled it out for the final, Sir K was back in.

I was at the fight where sir K set fire and they had to evacuate the
arena for about 10mins while they put him out!!!!
