When I read many of the posts on this newsgroup and the cross posts from the
uk-media-tv-robot-wars site (why do people cross post?!) they mostly seem to
be from people asking "Why don't you build a robot as big as Killerlot" or
something like that, and so wondered if anyone here has actually taken part.
I know Andy Pugh has, as I still have the damage Smidsy created, but how
many others here have been on RW1, 2, 3 or now 4?
Also how many others are, seriously, (as in you must have started building
by now) going to enter RW5?

If I get my funding fixed and my team set up, I'll be building one -- but
not for the TV program (excessive damage caused by 5 overweight, illegal
robots doesn't really attract me) but rather for any of the other
organizations that have been set up.

I've built a middleweight (roughly). It wont be entered for Robot
Wars, but I may take it to a third party event -
TRC-or-True-robotic-Combat-as-we-call-it-in-robotwars :)

I am also making progress on my Ant, Zup.

As an occassional poster, I will admit that I have no intention of building
a robot. I just love to watch the programme and read this NG.

I even went so far as to create an email list for those interested in
Robotwars.

It can be found at

Which rules will you be following when you build your robot?

Probably those set by NARC.

I'm building a middle weight, no intention of getting involved with
Mentorn though, mine's going in the NARC arena.

We found that. If we hadn't had motor failure prior to our second fight, we
would have SMASHED out way to the heat final.

In the first war with REAli-T. Have tried to enter subsequently but with no joy.
Hopefully starting a new team for the fifth war. Fingers crossed.

Not been on them, but I was involved in the building of SMIDSY.
