Hi, I am a resident of Newport.

Yesterday, I called SAKONNET AUTO SERVICE of Tiverton, to
ask a question about a repair they apparently do not provide.. he
hung up abruptly, so ~ "I guess" they dont provide the repair I need,
LOL.)

If these people display an attitude, poor disposition or rudeness, then
CAN you trust them to be honest, professional or reputable enough
to fix your car?? This is not to say there are satisfied customers
perhaps, tho I personally, would be extremely hesitant to try them.
After all, there are probably Satisfied customers as well.

Life experience tells me to avoid
these kinds of business personalities-
his rude and uncalled-for hangup was a red flag indicator of
unprofessionalism (be warned, re: repairs..) Looks like he has
screwed himself here now!

Common sense.

They are located in Tiverton at 624-8000 **I cannot
recommend that you call them regarding this, so please dont.
Number listed is for reference purposes only*** Be careful who
you let fix your car - ***If this post saves one person from being
ripped off by -Any- repair service, then I have done my job***.
If you need a repair and approach them, you might feel the same about
thier Unprofessionalism. This must merely be my opinion about facts.

Remember, SAKONNET AUTO SERVICE in Tiverton may, or
may not seem rude (dumb) to yourself, as well. And I invite them to
respond at my address: RIbetterbusiness"at"AOL.COM....
Additionally, this will be reposted periodically until I am satified.

I share some commercial shop space here in Austin and fully 30% of the
phone calls received on any one given day are unsolicited pitches for
insurance, parts deals, etc. that acccomplish little except to waste our
time.

Don't be too harsh on the shop owner without knowing all of the details.

Time for a shameless promotion :

I use North Providence Tire and Auto for all the auto repair
work I can't do myself and problems I can't diagnose. They're
excellent. Over the last 15 years or so they've never once
misdiagnosed a problem or failed to fix my car.

Some places "fix" the car and you get it back, only to find out
they didn't really fix it and you have to go back again. That's
happened to me with dealerships but never with NP Tire and Auto.

All that and their prices are reasonable.

ps: I have no ties, financial or otherwise to NP Tire and Auto.

oh lookie here, a usenet mouse!

anywayz...B&C Auto in Newport is great - they have such a high volume of
repairs to keep up with, theres no time for shenanigans so it seems. good
people forthright and honest. Only the girl at the counter is a complete
condescending phoney - to get a good repair talk to the owner whos usually
always there - the countergirl will mess things up yet besides that, a first
class business. no affiliation or bias here..

S&S Transmissions in Portsmouth however, its a trap. more on them and others
when i get this thing streamlined, lol

As a resident of Tiverton, i guess i'm kinda partial, but i've been to
SAS and they treated me very well. one time i didn't have an
appointment, but i asked if he could give me a walk-around for my
inspection. Nice people.. gimme a chance.
