He is not in jail for "denying the Holocaust". He is in jail for having
entered Austria when there was an outstanding arrest warrant for his
having publicly denied and deprecated the Holocaust, an offense against
the Austrian Constitution, in speeches given there in 1989. He *knew* that
there was an outstanding arrest warrant for him, and he *knew* that he was
banned from entring or sojourning in Austria, but he thought that he was
somehow above the law and went anyway. Although his publicly stated views
on the Holocaust obviously have something to do with his present
imprisonment, it was his daft decision to enter Austria when there was an
outstanding arrest warrant as well as a ban on him entering the country
that is the source of his present predicament.

suffered a stroke.
Although his incarceration obviously leaves much to be desired, he has
not suffered and recent life threatening health problems and we are
