I talked with a guy who had a near death experience, a suicide
attempt. He went to "heaven", experienced "God", and was told he had
to return.

Now this guy is as much as an expert as anyone on what happens after
you die. He said that God was infinitely loving. God was not in the
tiniest bit interested in your imperfections and sins. He utterly and
totally loved you more than you could possibly imagine.
This does not match what I read in the Bible or the Qur'an where God
is vindictive and incredibly distressed by every minor error you make
in life.
