Angered by the choice of an ultra-conservative, neo-nazi pope ?

There is a solution.
Join a protestant church or a saner religion like Buddhism or Hinduism or Islam or Judaism.

Or stop supporting ridiculous entities such as organized religion

Or return to Orthodoxy, if they REALLY want to change bishops.

Frankly I can't beleive they are pissed off about the POPE when thats
just the latest symptom of the diseased entity the Catholic Church.
Any religion that supports (through their silence) the crimes that
their priests have been committing against their own members should be
given the same punishment as those that have actually committed the
crimes.
They have become the accomplices. Every dime that is given to this
church is tainted.

And, if people feel that way, and wish to retain their faith, they should
seek bishops in another rite.

Just because some priests got corrupt does not mean the underlying
revelation is false.

Of your choices, where is prayer? I see your myriad of religions are
teaching you well. Pitiful.

Prayer For The Pope:

Lord, you granted to Peter and his successors the power to exercise
your authority over the flock which is your Church. Grant to our Holy
Father, Pope Benedict XVI, the grace to follow your will in all things,
*the strength to resist the influence of worldly opinion,* the wisdom
to see your Spirit at work in men and in world events, the holiness to
be an example for all of mankind, and the courage to *protect your
Church from evil in all its forms.*

Help him as he works in union with the other bishops as shepherd,
priest and teacher and grant him the joy of seeing the Church grow in
numbers and in grace. Amen.

Please write the prayer on a small piece of paper, attach it to a $20.00

Upon arrival I will send you a clean new envelope and a stamp so your

Catholic schools through my Junior year in high school, pre Vatican II, just
explain the changes.

I made a big exception and went to a Catholic wedding mass a couple years
ago. Second time at an actual service since 1957 and it was a bit different.

Your original beleif system might not be, but as I understand that
beleif system leaves you no option but to rely on the very system that
has let you down. The very system that has perputrated the crimes

No, actually bishops originally (and in other rites still do) had much
more autonomy than in the RCC, I think. I know that Orthodox
congregations reserve the right to overthrow their bishop, as well,
though it is only rarely exercised.

Archimedes out to Socrates, Socrates back to Archimedes,
Archimedes out to Herakleitos, he beats Hegel, Herakleitos, a little
flick, here he comes on the far post, Socrates is there! Socrates heads
it in! Socrates has scored! The Greeks are going mad! The Greeks are
going mad, Socrates scores, what a beautiful cross from Archimedes! The
Germans are disputing it. Hegel is arguing that the reality is merely
an a priori adjunct of non-naturalistic ethics; Kant, via the
categorical imperative, is holding that ontologically it exists only in
the imagination; and Marx is claiming it was offside. But Confucius has
answered them with the final whistle! It's all over!

In one of the episodes, it was used as a segue between skits. A
married couple (I think it was Eric Idle as the wife and Terry Jones)is
sitting on the sofa watching TV. A newsreader (Graham Chapman) comes
on the television and says, "It's just gone eight o'clock and it is now

time for the penguin on the top of your television set to explode".

[Boom] <<as the penguin explodes>> The wife turns to the husband and
says, "I wonder how he knew that?" And the newsreader answers, "'Twas
an inspired guess." And the next skit begins.

I'm sure they must be. This one's called "Michaelangelo"; It's on
the "Live at the Hollywood Bowl" film. Eric Idle played Michaelangelo
and The Pope was John Cleese. This was superb!!

Renaissance Choir:

[Gregorian Chant]

Servant:

A Michelangelo to see you, your Holiness.

Pope:

Who?

Servant:

Michelangelo, the famous renaissance artist whose best known works
include the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, and the celebrated statue of
David.

Pope:

Ah. Very well...

Servant:

In 1514 he returned to Florence and de...

Pope:

All right, that's enough, that's enough, they've got it now!

Servant:

Oh.

Michelangelo:

Good evening, your Holiness.

Pope:

Evening, Michelangelo. I want to have a word with you about this
painting of yours, "The Last Supper."

Michelangelo:

Oh, yeah?

Pope:

I'm not happy about it.

Michelangelo:

Oh, dear. It took me hours.

Pope:

Not happy at all.

Michelangelo:

Is it the jello you don't like?

Pope:

No.

Michelangelo:

Ah, no, I know, they do have a bit of colour, don't they? Oh, I know,
you don't like the kangaroo?

Pope:

What kangaroo?

Michelangelo:

No problem, I'll paint him out.

Pope:

I never saw a kangaroo!

Michelangelo:

Uuh...he's right in the back. I'll paint him out! No sweat, I'll make
him into a disciple.

Pope:

Aah.

Michelangelo:

All right?

Pope:

That's the problem.

Michelangelo:

What is?

Pope:

The disciples.

Michelangelo:

Are they too Jewish? I made Judas the most Jewish.

Pope:

No, it's just that there are twenty-eight of them.

Michelangelo:

Oh, well, another one will never matter, I'll make the kangaroo into
another one.

Pope:

No, that's not the point.

Michelangelo:

All right. Well, I'll lose the kangaroo. Be honest, I wasn't perfectly
happy with it.

Pope:

That's not the point. There are twenty-eight disciples!

Michelangelo:

Too many?

Pope:

Well, of course it's too many!

Michelangelo:

Yeah, I know that, but I wanted to give the impression of a real last
supper. You know, not just any old last supper. Not like a last meal or
a final snack. But you know, I wanted to give the impression of a real
mother of a blow-out, you know?

Pope:

There were only twelve disciples at the last supper.

Michelangelo:

Well, maybe some of the others came along afterw...

Pope:

There were only twelve altogether.

Michelangelo:

Well, maybe some of their friends came by, you know?

Pope:

Look! There were just twelve disciples and our Lord at the last supper.
The Bible clearly says so.

Michelangelo:

No friends?

Pope:

No friends.

Michelangelo:

Waiters?

Pope:

No.

Michelangelo:

Cabaret?

Pope:

No!

Michelangelo:

You see, I like them, they help to flesh out the scene, I could lose a
few, you know I could...

Pope:

Look! There were only twelve disciples at...

Michelangelo:

I've got it! I've got it! We'll call it "The Last But One Supper"!

Pope:

What?

Michelangelo:

Well there must have been one, if there was a last supper there must
have been a one before that, so this, is the "Penultimate Supper"! The
Bible doesn't say how many people were there, does it?

Pope:

No, but...

Michelangelo:

Well there you are, then!

Pope:

Look! The last supper is a significant event in the life of our Lord,
the penultimate supper was not! Even if they had a conjurer and a
mariachi band. Now, a last supper I commissioned from you, and a last
supper I want! With twelve disciples and one Christ!

Michelangelo:

One?!

Pope:

Yes one! Now will you please tell me what in God's name possessed you
to paint this with three Christs in it?

Michelangelo:

It works, mate!

Pope:

Works?

Michelangelo:

Yeah! It looks great! The fat one balances the two skinny ones.

Pope:

There was only one Redeemer!

Michelangelo:

Ah, I know that, we all know that, what about a bit of artistic
license?

Pope:

A one Messiah is what I want!

Michelangelo:

I'll tell you what you want, mate! You want a bloody photographer!
That's you want. Not a bloody creative artist to crease you up...

Pope:

I'll tell you what I want! I want a last supper with one Christ, twelve
disciples, no kangaroos, no trampoline acts, by Thursday lunch, or you
don't get paid!

Michelangelo:

Bloody fascist!

Pope:

Look! I'm the bloody pope, I am! May not know much about art, but I
know what I like!
