"All phenomena originate in the mind, and when the mind is
fully known all phenomena are fully known. For by the mind
the world is led...and through the mind karma is piled up,
whether good or bad. The mind swings like a firebrand, the
mind rears up like a wave, the mind burns like a forest
fire, like a great flood the mind carries all things away.
Bodhisattvas, thoroughly examining the nature of things,
remain in ever-present mindfulness of the activity of the
mind, and so do not fall into the mind's power, but the mind
comes under their control. And with the mind under their
control, all phenomena are under their control."
That's from the Cloud of Jewels sutra, found in the
Mahayana texts of the Pali Canon.
A Bodhisattvas is a being destined for enlightenment, who
postpones final attainment of Buddhahood in order to help living
living beings.
Sid
Was that you with the flower, tambourine, shaved head and this same annoying
neediness at LAX in the 80's? One can see that giving you a dollar to go
away could have been better spent.

As opposed by dead living beings, or live dead beings?
Sid is an idiot. Buddha did not teach. Buddha lived. Others learned
from the fact that he did. What is called "the way of the Buddha" or
"Fourth Way" is to live life at its fullest, womanizing and drinking
and wearing fine garments in comfort, and then to transcend that. One
does not postpone attainment for others. Separation is for the joy of
union. The greater the separation, the greater joy. So taught the
Buddha ~ BY EXAMPLE! Mahatma was faulted for lifestyle at the
fountain, remember? Or don’t you even bother to learn these things in
the first place?
In the quote Sid provides here, Mahatma is making reference to the
centers of mind and our need to AWAKE to self, within. This was not
quoted directly from Mahatma, but one of the many that emulated him.
It does not translate well and few comprehend it. It is in reference
to the four centers demonstrated on my site, http://weirwizard.com and
the message of the Christ wizard's contention that you are all zombies
until you AWAKE and are born again within. This does not mean that
magick is only mental. It is in reference to the fact that, but for
rare exceptions, we only dream life. To be successfully, or even truly
alive, we must not give into the delusion that all things or no more
than a dream, as in Sid's case, but we must AWAKEN from this dream
state to REAL LIFE and cling to AWAKE for prolonged periods of time.
This does not involve delusion as in Sid. It requires intense self
observation so that HIGHER OBSERVER can be born within. This HIGHER
OBSERVER can then discover the components of MIND and learn how they
work. No, all things external are not just in mind. But when you start
successfully discovering MIND you discover that everything we
perceive, while having separate existence, is perceived only in a
limited way according to the map of MIND and the capacity of our
senses.
That doesn't sound like P.D. Ouspensky's "Fourth Way", (or maybe it does,
after all), although many of your posts sound 'Gurdjieffian'.

Did you bother to skim some books in passing to be familar with the ideas of
buddha, ouspensky and gurdjieff?
