First draw what is commonly known as "the Star of David". Which is two
overlapping triangles - one pointing up and one pointing down. Then draw
two triangles seperately - one point up and one pointing down. then draw
two more like that - but with the second two draw a horizontal line
through the middle of each one. You will notice if you look at the
overlapping "star" triangles that the horizontal line of one triangle
crosses through the other triangle - that is why you draw the lines
through the two triangles to get the second two symbols. The triangle
which points up represents that which is above us (literally above the
Earth, as well as other symbolic "aboves"). The "plain" upwardly
pointing triangle represents Fire. The upwardly pointing triangle with
the line through it is Air. The triangle which points down represents
that which is below us. The plain downwardly pointing triangle is Water
and the one with the line through it is Earth. Earth and Water are
considered Female and receptive. Air and Fire are Male and projective -
when you bring the two plain triangles together you have the entire
Universe complete.

The ones you are thinking of are from alchemy.
Fire - Triangle pointing up
Water - Triangle pointing down
Air - Triangle, up, with a horisontal line through it
Earth - Triangle, down, with a horizontal line through it

Other symbols used for the Elements:
The astrological sigils. Each type of elemental Sign expresses a
different phase of the element (Cardinal is the element in a rising,
newly-energized mode, Fixed is the most potent, or most established,
form of the element, Mutable is the Element is a state of transition).
The fixed signs: Leo for Fire, Scorpio for Water, Aquarius for Air,
Taurus for Earth) are the defaults, as it were, in most workings.
There are also the Indian tattvas:
Akasha (Aether) - an indigo ovoid or egg
Vayu (Air) - A blue circle
Tejas (Fire) - A red triangle
Apas (Water) - A white or silver crescent
Prithivi (Earth) - A yellow square

I threw it up to answer your question, and I'm not sure where I got those graphics from, so if they belong to someone... sorry.

question ... are there any other symbols for the elements .... i have a
pentacle and on the circle there are sybols, the problem is they are
between the points of the star ...
Going deosil starting at 1 o'clock they are like this:
-an I with a thorn on top
-an I with a thorn at the bottom
-a P in italic
-a sign for god turned 90 deg. left(")O")
-a wide U
been searching for theese symbols for quite a while!
