I suspect everyone in this group has touched, used and felt ley line
energy... Ley lines are like rivers, and in fact often flow near or in,
or across rivers, they seem to come to the surface more readily near
water. And go deep underground in desert conditions.
Unlike rivers they are straight they go through rather than round, and
sometimes a house built on a major ley line crossing will get a
reputation for being haunted... though you often find ley lines near
rivers, they don't follow the rivers curves and bends they simply go
straight and usually pick up the river again further on.
Ley energy is being produced all the time all over the world, it comes
from the things that grow in the earth, the water, rivers, and oceans.
If you have hugged a tree and felt better, its because you have touched
ley line energy. All plants produce that energy, but obviously a tree is
going to produce much more than a blade of grass..
If you sit beneath a tree, put your hands on the earth and just wait,
you will often feel the beat of the ley energy, its a slow whirlpool
that comes out from the tree to feed into ley lines... the healthier the
tree the more likely you are to feel it, and in spring its far more
obvious, as the trees wake into life in fact for a couple of days their
is a blast of ley line energy....in winter the energy is slower and you
cant feel it very well.
If you like me get spring fever, and want to clean and polish and put
things to right after the dark of winter, it might be that your feeling
that huge pulse of energy coming from plants into ley lines and
rejuvenating them and you.
Ley line energy can be dowsed for, and learning to dowse is not hard. If
you learn to dowse well, you end up not needing a dowsing rod, you
simply feel it in your body...
In places like America where the lines are so huge, you can simply pick
them up by letting your body tell you where they are.
Unfortunately the really strong lines and crossing points where many
lines meet can cause headaches and nausea, if your sensitive to such
energy, You learn to walk the edges of such lines,
Many myths and legends are written about the old straight paths, in this
country that were once trodden by our remote ancestors.
That they were safe places from evil. They became processional paths,
and you can still walk some of them, From Stonehenge to Averbury, From
the old ridge way to Peddars way in Norfolk to the wood henge that was
found in the sea.
Their are paths that reach from each sacred site to the next and the
next right across the country.
Where their were ancient sacred sites, temples and circles of stone or
wood, churches were built, the vast majority of these sites is a major
crossing point for ley lines.
If you use magick on a ley line, it can boost it very successfully, and
if the magick is something to do with nature, like the weather, growth,
fertility, and such, then the results can if the ley line is strong
enough be quite spectacular.
Hope that has answered some of the questions

Ah! I think I may have found something -- a line available to my memory,
one more or less following a meandering creek, and one down to the
scale I can contend with (noting that all American bodies of water are
not as wide as the Mississippi; we do have some geographic features
carved at a more reasonable scale).
Many thanks!

Glad to hear it, I thought the Mississippi was huge, :) If you find a
ley line near your creek, you soon get the feel of them, its different
for each person, some people feel a tingle, others can get headaches
even nausea, others get a butterfly in the stomach feeling,
For others its a feeling of peace or spiritually or even physically
uplifting. You have to find some peaceful place where your not really
thinking about anything, and then let the ley line energy creep over
you. Once its happened a few times, you will be find that your finding
ley lines all over the place.
Well in England all over the place :) In America not so often but they
are very strong.
Here's a link that might help.. I believe it contains a few other links
too.

I can't physically visit the spots I have in mind (they're about 800
miles away), but I found a map with enough detail that I easily located
the 3 spots I was thinking of, and found they followed a straight line.
I aligned the willow tree and natural spring where I made my first
tentative overt dedication to the Lady with a creekside spot called
Willow Beach, a few miles away, and further to a willow tree and natural
spring, another few miles downstream. I had, let's call them,
"experiences" at those first two named sites, and was particularly
inclined to walk the creekside downstream toward that third site.
I've always been hesitant to reach deeply for the vibrations here in
Mississippi -- too much chance of touching some things I'd rather not. I
should look around, that is with my inner sight, but I'm concerned about
avoiding some of the vibrations from the area's history.

Looks like your inclined to find ley lines spiritually uplifting which
is wonderful. Usually ley lines in forests or near trees are especially
nice... Or so I have found.
If you have any areas near you where their are water, trees, and clear
ground for a good way around it, You should be able to feel the ley
energy without any bad vibes.

Oh, good gods, Gale, Mississippi scares the hell out of me. I won't look
around at all when there, particularly north of Jackson. I don't even like
driving through there on my way to Louisiana. <shivers at the thought> I
just put up extra shielding and get through as fast as I can.
The vibes are too recent and too strong. I felt that way in the basement of
a home that had owned slaves as well even though it was just outside St.
Louis. Ick.

I had another experience during a rebirthing exercise 10 years ago. In
rebirthing, they teach a certain breathing technique used throughout. I had
to stop after about 15 minutes because I felt like my extremities were being
electrocuted. It was the weirdest sensation, I guess brought on my
breathing...or a ley line. I don't know, still not sure about what
happened.
Do you think it is possible to be constantly sensitive to ley lines where
one is always walking around in a low level buzzed state? Do you think it
might also result or be related to an anxiety disorder?
-V
Could have been either, some of those breathing techniques can cause
problems if they are not taught properly.

Most of the ley lines I came across in America were large and fairly far
apart... In England you just about fall over them every other step,
If your living on a large ley line, I think you would eventually get
used to it and adjust, certainly they can give you a buzz, and if they
are big enough, they can make you feel high... or as in my case,
headaches sickness and unpleasant pain.
If you are sensitive to them, then putting up a shield helps, if its a
big and powerful ley line, nothing much helps at all, you just get out
of the area or walk the edges. But normal or small ley lines you can
sort of earth yourself from. By using a shield.
It could make you feel anxious I think if your not sure of what is
causing the buzz... try walking in an area that gives you a high buzz.
And instead of walking in a straight line, try to walk from side to side
to gauge the width of the ley line, you should notice that the buss
slowly dies away as you walk away from the centre towards the edges.
Yes, you've got it -- that is the sense of the place. You can feel as
well as empirically note the reverberations found in the current
population -- there is a tension. There may seriously be less actual
racism in contemporary Southern than Northern behavior, but there is a
peculiar sort of xenophobia mingled with general human distrust (yes,
distrust of everyone, not just "the others") that seems to reflect, not
ill-intentions, but memories and ghosts that just aren't deeply enough
buried. There are elements of the past that are carefully not spoken of,
but not speaking certainly would not quell the deep vibrations -- if
anything, not speaking amplifies them. I do not wish to feel the
vibrations of central and north central Mississippi; there are things
there it would do me no constructive purpose at all to face.
The land always carries memory's, Places like England have them going
back centuries, battlefields, deaths, births, murders, and simply
ancient history..
I remember visiting an ancient roman site and stepped into what was left
of the arena,,, the emotion hit me, and my knees went, If hubby hand not
hung on to me, I would have gone down, the fear, the rage, the death was
so strong it washed over you....
Often the feelings are not personal they are simply strong emotions and
feelings. Its difficult to say, let some of those memories in, but you
can deal with it, if you take it slowly. Once those emotions have hit
you then you can take a step back and find other feelings other emotions
and other memories that are not so hard to take.
History is part of the land, and the land carries its own memory's... If
you live in a land as old and as blood drenched as this one, you learn
to deal with the emotions. It helps you to come to terms with the land
your living with.
There are places here in my locality that I get teh same feeling from. I am
quite sure there was an Aboriginal massacre on Bellambi Beach, the energy is
just so dark and so strong, I can't even bring myself to walk on that side
of the street. Joel felt the same way when he was living there. I have no
evidence whatsoever that anything like that happened, its just a very strong
impression. And I know that I don't have the power within me to heal it. It
wants blood. Unfortunately, it gets blood far too often for my liking (lots
of bashings, and several murders have happened up and down that street). The
best I can do is reassure it that my white feet won't touch the ground
there. Its still too angry and full of hurt to accept any sort of apology or
a "it had nothing to do with me" explanation. Creepy place.

Try walking away from the area and see if it reduces when you do, I
shouldn't think you would get back pain, or neck pain, that probably
needs a doctor, and sometimes neck or back pain can cause headaches and
nausea,
My friend who is also into ley lines, tells me she gets a buzzing
sensation but not in her ears, more in her bones or teeth...
If you want to know if your living on a ley line, then try and find the
edges of the line, Its perfectly possible to live on a ley line without
any trouble at all,

Still, I miss it there. :-(

What is interesting to me is that about half way down the page, they start
talking about ley lines, and give two maps, on of England, and one of
Europe, and a diagram of how ley lines lie across the globe. There is also a
transcript from a video made by similar-thinking Christians back in the 80's
describing where the ley-lines are. Its interesting because even though they
are 100% against ley lines and see them as the devil's work (what *don't*
they see as the devil's work?) they still point out that churches tend to
lie upon these ley lines.
I have also seen a previous map - I don't know where - that had the second
"horizontal" line (the one with Glasonbury on it) marked on it as the major
ley line of the UK. So perhaps the mad fundy Christians have got it right in
a sense at least, in that they can find ley lines too. (Although the stuff
about Heathrow Airport just made me giggle)

Do they form straight lines? Or have they been formed into straight
lines in the UK and Northern Europe? I ask because the ch'i of the
earth (the Earth Dragons) of Taoism and of Feng Shui do *not* form
straight lines (hence the Dragon imagery) - and as nearly as I can
determine, they conduct the same energies as the ley lines.

I have been to Asia, but not china, but the ley lines in Asia were just
like in Europe.
My own feelings on ley energy is they go in straight lines because they
go through earth, water, rock, and metal as if they were air.
I have wondered if their are ley lines joining planets, If so I have
never found one but its an interesting thought, Is their a ley line
between the earth and the moon ? certainly space should be no barrier.
Are their ley lines between the sun and the planets in this solar
system, ?
Lines of magnetic force can be bent, but ley lines are not magnetic
lines.
I don't know about dragon lines, I take it they like dragons are
sinewe's, and wander like rivers, or streams, As I have never
encountered a dragon line that I know of, I cant even speculate...
Well, it is the same land mass......

I wouldn't be surprised if there is some sort of linkage beween various
planets, suns, moons etc etc.

Hmm... Maybe I've been dunked in the beer once too often, but isn't
Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon based on a similar premise? Namely,
linkage between planets and people?

Thanks for this wonderful post, Shez :)
I have an intersection of two ley lines underneath the center of my house.
The separation between the Fae realm and this reality is also thin, on my
property. When people come to visit, they can feel the peace, as well as
the energy.
I've always been a "natural magnet" for ley line energy. I just naturally
gravitate toward them.

Gale,
Dayton, Ohio is such a place. I have a very metaphysical friend who lives
there, and says the city is sitting atop a large node of dark energies - and
with every crime, every discrimination, every non-nurturing act performed,
it grows.
The people in the area tend to be rude and distant. Friendliness does not
characterize them. I don't know how I managed to live in that area for 13
years; I guess need makes people do some really extraordinary things.
There ARE witches in the area who are trying to cleanse this build-up of
dark energies. I can attest from living there so long that it seems to be a
hopeless cause. Frankly, I cannot imagine how my friend, and other
"righthand path" witches, manage to live there, at all.
The only thing I can figure is they all make a small pocket of positive
energies around their immediate environs.
It was a blessed relief when I moved back to my native state of Wisconsin.
Not long after, I had to call the phone company for some help. I dialed the
800 number I'd used in Ohio; turned out to be for the wrong area. The
operator was very rude and cold. The operator I got for my area was like
white from black - friendly and helpful.
I never did research the history of Dayton. If anyone has heard any
interesting historical tidbits which may account for this buildup of dark
energies, please share.
Ley lines, there? Ha! Hard to find amongst all the interference, even
though there were two major rivers running right through.
I've noticed that Salem, Mass. has a dingy, dark energy to it as well. I don't
know if it's related to all the history that took place there, or if it's the
people themselves. The energy does seem to take a toll on the people after
awhile, as well. It's also a highly haunted area, not sure if that's related.

Hey Gale,
One fellow I know used to live in Eastern Kentucky. Didn't like it there, thought the people were very backward and
racist. He was brought up there. He liked to explore and take pictures of cemeteries. He told me there were some old
ones where the stones had fallen down, or had been knocked down, and that he would occasionally get the feeling of
rising anger, with the feeling that someone or something decided he didn't belong, and would probably do something
about it after it got dark.
He told me there were some places so creepy he didn't dare set foot in them.
Lot of civil war cemeteries, though I suspect thats common for the south.
