I'm looking to learn more on spiritualism and mediumship so that I can find the path that is right for me!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Here's my story/journey so far:

I was raised by my mother and step-father who are not particularly religious at all. We never went to church and we never spoke about religion whilst I was growing up. My grandmother has always been a spiritualist and practicing medium and I've always found it fascinating! Recently a witch who was giving my grandmother a reading (she used angel cards) told me I had a gift and that I should pursue it. I've started a course on spiritualism and meditations which teaches about chakras and energies etc.

So far I believe that the earth and everything on it has energy and that people may be able to use it for their benefit. I also believe in afterlife, but I'm not sure in which form. I don't know if I believe in a heaven and I don't believe in divine creation. I believe that nature created itself and is continuing to create itself.

Thanks in advance for any help!

In article <a3192286-bcbe-4dac...@googlegroups.com>,
It sounds as though you could learn some from your grandmother.
What religion is she in if any?

Most pagans find the divine in nature and not above or outside
nature so you might find a home in some variety of paganism
or might come up with your own version of paganism as I have
(I am not Wiccan but I have occasionally participated in group
rituals with some WIccan friends).

Also what is your ancestry? If you are interested in spiritualism
and mediumship then I assume you want to communicate with your
ancestors, so maybe you can learn from them, or your spiritual
path could be influenced by theirs. Do you have any African
blood, Roma (gypsy) blood, native American blood, or celtic blood?
For example if you have African blood you could try to find
a sangoma who you could learn from.

This group and most other pagan/newage newsgroups are mostly
dead these days but you might find some interesting old
threads on http://groups.google.com .

Some other groups related to spiritualism, mediumship, channeling,
sangoma practice, meditation, paganism, magick, shamanism,
and divination are:

Of those, alt.paranormal and alt.magick and alt.religion.shamanism
still have some traffic, and I have crossposted this reply to
alt.paranormal. But again you might find some interesting old
threads on http://groups.google.com even for currently dead groups.
Some groups, e.g. alt.religion.shamanism, have FAQ files that
are (or once were) posted monthly.

Also you might find pagan groups or individuals in your town
through the Your Town menu in the left margin of the
http://www.witchvox.com/ web page or perhaps by checking
the bulletin boards of local pagan/newage supply shops if any.
There may also be Facebook groups for local pagan groups.

Also there is a Wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiritualism
and probably some other relevant ones.
