Today we had our weekly peristyle meeting, and I and the other
initiates reflected on where our house is today. Since as many Roots
Without End Society members as possible are going to be coming to New
Orleans, I'll be introducing some of them personally there, but in the
meantime I'd like to say a few words about our house membership in
general.

There is also a page giving a little information about me and about
the Roots Without End Society at:

http://www.RootsWithoutEnd.com/roots_without_end.html

Our house didn't just explode ito being, I worked long and hard so
that the Roots Without End Society could become a reality. I was
initiated in 1990, and I spent nine years studying Vodou in Haiti
before I ever thought of initiating anyone!

In 1999 I began working in another Houngan's peristyle, doing
kanzos(initiations) with him. It wasn't until January 2001 that I had
my own peristyle. But every six months from July 1999 to present, I
have conducted a kanzo (initiation) ceremony.

I've met, and consecrated, all sorts of people. Some people came from
backgrounds in New Orleans Vodou, or Santeria, or Palo. Two, so far,
have been Babalawos. One is a Jew, several are yogis, and quite a few
are Roman Catholics (mostly the Haitian initiates.) We have Old Craft
practitioners affiliated with the Black Forest Clan, a hoodoo
practitioner, a renowned shaman - I can't imagine any place where
there is a higher concentration of spiritual talent and ability than
in my house!

The Roots Without End Society is an international house, and in
addition to Haitian members we have members in the United States,
Canada, England, Costa Rica, Nigeria, Malaysia, the Middle East... all
over.

Most of the members are "winners" in other areas of life, which is
only to be expected from high achievers! We have teachers and real
estate agents, authors (Houngan Ross Heaven and Houngan Ray Marlbrough
each have published several books), people who work for communications
companies and people who work for NASA. Among our Haitian initiates
we have electricians and homemakers, farmers and livestock keepers.

We have all ethnicities and colors, of course, everything from
European willowy white to Hispanic to Haitian black,
African-Americans, white Englishmen and mixed race West Indians, you
name it we've got it. Heterosexual, homosexual, transexual, from age
2 to late 60's.

Now that I have done eight kanzo ceremonies, initiates from the
different kanzo groups are getting to know each other. Houngan Dave
Golding, from the "Millennium Kanzo" (January 2000), has attended Fet
Gede and the Makaya Magic Workshop in Haiti, and also assisted
ceremonies in New Orleans and Pennsylvania, so he has met many of the
members of subsequent kanzos, including:

Mambo Tamara Suida - the "konfyans", trusted counselor, of our house,
she is also the head of the Kemetic Orthodox Church, and has an
advanced university degree relating to her studies of ancient Egypt.

Mambo Pat and Houngan Don Scheu - leaders of the Lodge of the Walker,
an Old Craft house.

Houngan Hector Salva - Houngan asogwe, child of Erzulie Freda,
powerful magician and excellent student of the Vodou religion.

I've already mentioned Houngans Ross and Ray, our authors - Houngan
Ross' titles sell on amazon.com (check out "The Journey to You), and
Houngan Ray has a huge following with his books on magic, candle
burning, and invocations.

We have Mambo Saskia in Costa Rica, we have Houngan Tim in Houston
(leader with Mambo Carole-Anne of the Coven of the Golden Dolphin)...

In Haiti we have Mambo Simone, who is really my right arm when we do a
kanzo - she is my first Haitian initiate in my own peristyle. We have
our wonderful maman hunyo, Philomene! We have husband and wife pairs
- hounsi Victoire and Houngan Montil, hounsi Andreli and Houngan
Babou. We have fearless Houngan Luckner, gorgeous hounsi Mimose...
and we have wonderful associates, including Houngan Fritzner "Po Pwa"
Georges, our medsen fey Loulou Prince... I am feeling very blessed.

If you'd like to know more about our house, email me at
raci...@aol.com .

:-)

Peace and love,
