In the story of the Binding/Sacrifice of Isaac from Chapter
22 of the Book of Genesis, God asks Abraham to sacrifice his
son Isaac on Mount Moriah. In what is widely considered one
of the most challenging Biblical stories, Abraham sets out
to obey God's commend, only to be stopped at the last minute,
when he discovers a ram in some nearby bushes and sacrifices
it instead...
But what does it all mean?
WHY does the story start by saying that "God put Abraham to
the test?"
IS Abraham's acquiescence out of character with his audacity
in defending Sodom and Gomorrah?
WHERE was Sarah? WHAT happened to Isaac at the end of the
story?
WHY did Abraham agree and why did God stop him in the end?
WHY do Jews read this story on Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish
New Year)?
All you need participate is either a telephone OR a computer.
Period. No travel, no hassle.

Looking forward to your joining us in this remarkable event!
Of course there are a couple of possibilities:
1.) It never happened, and was one of those stories they sat around
and told while they were waiting for somebody to invent TV.
2.) It did happen, and Abraham was a lunatic. He tells his wife the
knows that God wants him to murder their son, and she is superstitious
enough that she says, "Well, all right, if you have to."
3.) Or he was a lunatic, but not so much that he didn't keep it a
secret until the last minute. Then at the last minute he gets to
work, but hears "the voice" again, telling him "Never mind."
4.) He goes back and tells everybody, and they are so superstitious
they say that was a good thing, and Abraham is a great man.
5.) Think of the money they saved on hospitals. Think of the money
WE could save if we would take that attitude.
