Thanks for taking the time to put this together. What day of the week
were you there? Were the buses running that you could see? This wasn't
perhaps during the passage of Rita, was it? That could explain the
dearth of activity. How about any interest in your photography - were
you followed or monitored that you could notice?

I knew when I lived there the Osceola Apartments were their next target and
sure enough, seeing is believing from these photos, it is.

Terrific report, Rob! *Ghost town* is certainly a propos. The photos elicit
the stench of death that has conspicuously overtaken Clearwater since my
last (and only) visit during the Dec. '00 picket. You mention the fate of
Ottavio's and the old LMT building. What about the Presbyterian Church
situated at the northeast corner of Fort Harrison directly across from the
Ft Harrison Clambag Inn?
Someone recently informed me that Mick Jagger and Keith Richards actually
wrote "Satisfaction" in February, 1965 while sequestered overnight at the
Fort Harrison. If this is the case, then clearly the hospice had better days
as a resort destination.
Perhaps after the departure of the clams, the venerable Fort Harrison will
be resurrected as a sort of Chelsea Hotel South, a haven for bohemians and
artists looking for cheaper digs than might be found further south in Key
West.

You're welcome.
I did not take the photographs or write the text. I just did the html.
However, I am informed that this level of activity is entirely too typical
for Clearwater now. This sad state of affairs has persisted for some time.
http://www.whyaretheydead.net/Clearwater/
Clearwater has been and remains a shell of a city. After driving out the
wog businesses, the Scientology businesses themselves are dying. The
diversion of traffic from the creepy downtown has merely finished the
process Scientology started.

Still, the song seems eerily appropriate, doesn't it?
I'm wondering if this tour didn't take place on the day that 1500 sea
orgers were taken to the Channelside district in Tampa for some kind of
celebratory ordeal?
The closed businesses - now that's something I've watched increase over
the last 20 years.
I can remember in the mid-80s, early 90s, when I had friends who owned
very cool businesses -- an art gallery/studio, an African imports
place, and a restaurant -- downtown Clearwater. They were driven out by
new Scn landlords who jacked the rents.
Re: the uniforms...IIRC, there was a real woggy backlash from people
who were disturbed about the way the SO uniforms gave the impression of
some kind of police or military. So there was a move to a "kinder,
gentler" kind of uniform, in pastel colors.
More than one color and style makes for a scene that doesn't look like
an occupation.
Perhaps the various colors have some meaning or context within Scn,
Inc. structure, I don't know.
Thanks for the photo tour!

To be a long term scientologist seems inevitably to cultivate some
schizothymic characteristics suggesting a gradual waning of bodily awareness
and its natural rhythms. This oddball gait may be an indicator. The
Clearwater clams in their peculiar gung-ho stride appear to be emulating
underground cartoonist, R. Crumb's characters. In other words, they ain't

Wow. That city looks defunct. What a shame.

Awesome report!
I think this part is extremely interesting.
"Well, we were in for a surprise today. One of the long shuttered store
fronts of her building was open with a crew of workers busy
rehabilitating the space. We approached with caution for fear that she
had finally caved in and sold out to the cult. But when we got closer
we saw this sign in the window.
"We ventured inside to speak to the workers. They told us they were all
members of the Lion of Judah Church and they were all contributing
their time to get the Church ready.
"We asked them where their RPF uniforms were, but they told us that
their church didn’t have an RPF or an EPF; they are all volunteers and
happy to be there.
"We asked if they’ve had any problems with the cult, since they were
basically invading what was supposed to be a wog-free cult campus. One
gentleman told us yes, in fact they had. It seems that the CoS has
started filing complaints that resulted in a “stop work order” being
placed on their door. They have successfully disproven the false
allegations made by the cult and are busy preparing for the opening of
their Church.
"We shook their hands and wished them well and asked for contact info
so we can send them donations to help them along in what we are
certain will be an uphill struggle. You can visit their website at:
http://www.lionofjudahchurch.com/index1.htm . They are currently
working with that nice Greek man who owns the Royalty Theatre as an
interim meeting place."
Whoa! A fundamentalist Christian groups who state clearly on their
home page:
"During a time that the Church for the most part has abandoned our
inner cities all over the United States, God is calling this church to
reclaim our city for Christ and to bring Revival to Clearwater.
"We are calling our move to our inner city;
"The Lion, Downtown
Reclaiming our City for Christ !"
The fair gaming has already started on these folks and it's only going to
get worse. Critics might want to drop them a line to let them know that
support exists for them.
In the meantime, I imagine they will be proselytizing for their religion and
the only people in downtown Clearwater are Scio's.
Sounds like the "The Lion" is about to have lots of fun.

What I find to be a PES (potential entertainment source) is the fact
that, unlike the LMT, this is a religious group. Not just any religious
group, mind you, but a branch of the Southern Baptists, a church with
massive influence, particularly in the south.

I recently visited a relative who lives near the Tampa org. The org is
located in the old Diaz cigar factory building, with a Dianetics
Community Center across the street. Driving by, I saw about 40 cars in
the surrounding parking lots. One car was from Georgia, another from
California.
Most cars had Pinellas County license plates (Clearwater is in Pinellas
County; Tampa is in Hillsborough County, Florida), which I thought was
a little unusual.
The West Tampa [or "Wi'Tampa"] area is historically Latin residential,
especially Cuban. The houses are old but beautiful and cared for.
However, I saw half a dozen construction projects within a few blocks
of the org, where they're building McMansion type "luxury" homes [to me
these are so out of character with the surrounding architecture!]
There must be no OTs at all to fix the sewers, though. The street has
been closed in front of the org for almost a year, with workers
[non-Scn] fixing something.

Who is liar, harasser and defamer, Nessie? She is elderly Lise
Bentinck, from Amsterdam, the Netherland, and she is a known
anti-religious extremist and indicated that she stalked me to my
apartment to intimidate me. Her posting style is vulgar, offensive and
cheap.
She posts with nes...@removethlspychassault.org,
nes...@removethiswhytheyaredead.net and other crazy e-mail addresses.
Lise Bentinck claims to be a detective who works "under water"
(probably means drunk) while her friend Mike Gormez says she is a
"wannabe detective".
Hoever employs or hires that fanatical and unprofessional woman
apparenty does not much about her.
Lise Bentinck roams the streets with stuffed animals and demands of
people to hold them and being photographed with them, which makes them
look like fools and despite normal adults recognize that kind of
behavior mentally retarded. There were suspicions posted that Lise
Bentinck hides weapons in her stuffed animals.
Some ID's she hides behind are: "Hannibal", "Icee", "Icy", "Lena",
Lise, "Nessie", etc.
Homeland Security should read up on Lise Bentinck (Nessie) before they
let this lunatic enter again in the USA. Sofar, she just harassed and
stalked religion and good people here.
http://groups.google.com/group/alt.religion.scientology/msg/b83e363af6b659e4?dmode=source
I learned that Lise Bentinck harassed Scientologists as far away as
Clearwater, Florida. She posted that she "occupied" Clearwater. I read
that she visited the police in Clearwater und Prince Frederic and
bothered the officers with her lies about Scientologists. It seems that
she forces the officers too to take her stuffed animals and play with
them. I think Homeland Security should not let a harasser like her in
the USA and should open her stuffed animals and better look for drugs
and wepons.
"Nessie", Lise Bentinck is very close to Elizabeth Ann Cox, who calls
herself "Bunny" and who is pro deprogramming (kidnapping and destroyal
of religion, personality and health) and all indicators say that also
Lise is pro these outrageous criminal felony activities. She posted
recently in a thread in which a lawless German citizen asked to
"deprogram" me and supported her hatred.
http://www.parishioners.org/extremists/coxea1.html
Cox is just like Bentinck and defamed, libeled, insulted and assaulted
me with ID "Tiny Armada" from Oldtown, Maryland. (Her mind is tiny,
but not her body.)
Lise Bentinck is obsessed with celebrities, which is no good news for
celebtities as she is also a stalker and brags about it. Some call Lise
Eurotrash, and I agree.
As an "private investigator wannabe", Lise Bentinck is obsessed with
the tragical death of Lisa McPherson, however, but she failed to
investigate if Lisa was a psychiatric victim and how her confusion was
a set up and if she was hypnotized in the non-scientological hotel in
Orlando in which Lisa stayed before she returned to Clearwater. Lise
Bentinck does not investigate, she just blames and lies.
Why are some Dutch people so crazy, you ask? There is Karin Spaink, the
"cardinal and webmaster" of the "Church" of Euthanasia which has four
stellars: - Suicide-
- Abortion
- Cannibalism
- Sodomy

And I just learned that in year 1670 a mob of Dutch people partly ate
their prime minister and Holland was nearly disintegrated. I bring that
up here in case you wondered what Karin Spaink or Lise Bentinck could
have done in their past lives.
Read here more about socalled "critics" and the people Lise befriends.

And thank YOU for posting again! You are someone whose posts I

Saw the Tampa org again on Saturday afternoon - even more cars, another
one from Calif [bright blue, sporty, with actual fins, but not
vintage]. One was a GEICO insurance company car. Many seemed to be
