The right way to study Scientology is to carefully observe Scientologists
themselves, particularly ex-Scientologists where you can note an obvious,
shared pattern of aberrant behavior. The basis of this precept is,
"Scientology is what Scientology does." The 'is' can be easily gleaned from
the 'does.' That's why I have become an active observer of the 'does.'
Let's examine what a few, <ars> examples do:
There's Barbara Schwarz. She's a proud Scientologist and she is a walking,
talking, posting example of what Scientology does. The consensus of opinion
in Barbara's case seems to be that she is some sort of crazy lady. Googling
her name seems to verify this opinion. The question that needs to be asked
is, "Was Barbara crazy before she was brainwashed by Scientology?" I doubt
it, as she is obviously quite intelligent but she acts like she's got a
loose screw or two and it is mostly concerning aspects of Scientology and
the methods she learned in Scientology enslavement. Try as she might, she is
still ruled by these psychological methods, to her great detriment.
Then there's Monica Pignotti, a former Scientologist, who also seems to
suffer from paranoia, delusions of grandeur, narcissism and faulty thought
processes. She's obviously been programmed by Scientology to be a psychotic
type obsessed with her own queenly status. She's been taught to be
completely intolerant, to suppress any and all stirrings of a sense of
humor, to live in a fantasy world where what she says goes and where having
the final word makes her the winner despite her final word (and beginning
words, for that matter) being gibberish.
And, let's not forget Marty Rathbun, another noted ex-Scientologist. Here is
a man also placing himself at the center of the universe. Here is a failed
man trying to act like he's a success. Here is a lackluster turncoat who
didn't have what it takes to stay the course so now that he's bolted he's in
the process of 'fair-gaming' his erstwhile partners in crime. He seems to
think if he calls his former associates a bunch of criminals that this will
somehow exonerate him of the consequences of his own crime. Narcissism gone
wild, folks.
Can I close this essay without mentioning one Tory Magoo? I think not. Magoo
is another prime example of the kind of person Scientology generates. Watch
her doing her little YouTube videos where she is obviously delusional,
scatter-brained and out of touch with reality. Even her feigned, good
natured persona is obviously contrived. She still lives in the same
Scientology haze as when she was an active staffer gleefully going about
hazing others' thought processes. Now, she has convinced herself that she
can make amends for all the ruined lives she's been personally responsible
for by publishing a few, goofy videos. But, at the very foundation it is
evident there is the core Scientology teaching that she is better than
everybody else evident for all viewers to see.
In conclusion, when any Scientologist uses the failed argument that one must
first study Scientology and take the courses or just stfu about it because
'you know nothing about it,' just laugh in their face and say, "One doesn't
have to be a sanitary engineer to recognize the smell of shit."

The most common factor amongst former Scientologists is an inability
to let go of the subject. We see this particularly among people who
continue to see some good in it (such as Psycobarbie). Former
believers often show the same obsessive behaviours but gradualy re
engage with real life.
Jesus said it best. 'By their fruits you shall know them.'
Have you noticed any one else who has
had the intention to enslave someone?

No, but I can't help noticing somebody else who doesn't know that anyone is
one word.
I hope this helps.

The Cult of the Narcissist
I think you could have stopped short of that. How dare you denigrate
Tory? I largely agree with what you said above, though some of it is
ad hominem nonsense. But Tory deprogrammed faster and more thoroughly
than just about anyone I can think of, and has been a voice of sanity
for years.
What a weird little twit you are, "Gregory." And you have the gall to
proclaim that your childish rubbish is a fine essay? Maybe if it were
written in ten minutes by a tenth grader.
BTW, I urge anybody to have a look in Christian newsgroup. Neal Warren
is not the only one who gives a damn on the commandment: You shall not
lie.
They are hostile over there beyond belief.
Christians are just as bad as atheists.
