This is deeply hypocritical. But it's saved from being outrageous because I
can tell that this person truly has no clue. So it then enters the realm of
the risible.
Now, I no longer do flame wars- though I never promised not to be blunt,

Yah, ESMB had become a place where controversy was tamped down by the

Well, moderated fora can sometimes work but thing is you cannot please all
the people all the time.
And, for the record, on this thread, I was talking about Out of The dark who
has been jumping my shit lately, making value judgments left and right and
then telling ME not to interfere in things.
She wrote some truly stupid shit to me and the other night I was like, I've
had it with this person.

Well, I think having a moderated forum is a tough tow to hoe. I think Emma
usually does fine except when she lets her personal feelings show...Then
that's when it gets less than ideal.

I think Ems is moving on as some of the old guard critics you and I used to
know have done...sometimes a person just wants to go on with life and not so
much do the Scn criticism and stuff...

Yeah, Out of the Dark REALLY doesn't like me. But she never really GOT me,
anyway. She tried to stir up shit between me and Tory (like I need more of
that bullshit), chided me on talking to another critic a certain way because
of his cred or chops or whatever, came in on a thread where I was having an
extremely rough time emotionally and LOL'd-- then tells me to STFU. This was
all within a couple months.
Very hypocritical. I've just about had it with her.
C

Don't try to douse his hatred with facts, Fluff. It burns too hot,
fueled by alcohol.
> I think Emma
>usually does fine except when she lets her personal feelings show...Then

Because she is incapable of being an even-handed moderator in those
situations.
No reference at all to Emma's ass -- like he did just two messages back
in this thread? No mention of other members asses? That's hard to
believe frankly. He just said:
*I hear that ESMB is shutting down. What's the story with that? The
stick up Emma's ass become dislodged?*
Claire, why do you think Dr. Cathleen Mann shut down a cult support
forum, just to keep Reverend Erlich off it? Here is some facts to douse
the Reverend witch:
" Dennis was the perfect bulldog --
attacking, ad hominen all the time, arrogant, and very vulgar and
sexist. I was glad to be rid of him. I am sorry Steve Hassan has
such a person as a friend, which shows me he has very poor judgment in
this area. Monica attempted to defend herself and Dennis was the
epitome of an angry, hateful person. I am so glad I don't have to
deal with him or Steve Hassan ever again."
Dennis, Claire! Two of my favorite all-time a.r.s posters. What's happening?
Dennis, when I left, you'd not been posting for quite a while. Glad to see
you're back and talking about 'stuff.' I hope you're doing well, and that
some of the vicious crap the cult put you through in family court is fading
into the background. Have your daughters blown, or your ex?
Claire, I hope you're well, too. Are you still in Seattle? What's your
latest?
I see realpch is still here, along with homer, Android Cat, John Dorsey. And
unfortunately ronbots, bs, and others, too.
Does Tori Christman post on a.r.s anymore? I see Jeff and some others are
still here. Tilmann, Warrior, etc, are those guys still around?
I've had a bit of change in my life. I won't go into it here, but now am
back living in Colorado, for the time being anyway. My mom recently passed
away from complications related to Alzheimer's disease. Which was sad and
merciful at the same time. If anyone wants some perspective on how the human
brain works, I would highly encourage them to visit a senior center or
health care facility that cares for Alzheimer's patients. It's not magic,
it's meat.
Some amazing Sci't stuff has happened over the past few years, eh? The Tom
Cruise stuff was particularly damaging to the cult, I think, even if they
keep trying to spin it as good. Mike Rinder blew! Who would have guessed
that? The news about Stacey Moxon committing suicide in the electrical vault
at Hemet was finally leaked. Katie Holmes now seems to be questioning her
ill-conceived marriage. Is Mary DeMoss out? Mark Bunker now is WiseBeard (a
grizzled veteran of the mid-90s Scientology war against the Internet). Then
too, there was the 'anonymous' flare-up, all fiery and hot-headed, but then
quickly moderating under the calming influence of some of you old timers
(which reminds me of early and then middling henri). So much of the
discussion about Scientology now happens in disparate blogs and other
pockets and corners, and maybe that's good.
Speaking of anonymous, I'm still not much in favor of opposing the cult
anonymously. I understand why people do it, but I think in an ideological
battle, you need to take your positions in a courageous, open, unafraid
manner. One's argument will then better impress the audience, IMO.

Occasionally she does, but not too often these days. Warrior comes in

I haven't seen persuasive evidence about Stacy Moxon. I remember when
people had heard that Marty Rathbun had died, so I've always got the
salt shaker handy. I don't know about Mary. She had a really strange
blog up which covered some romantic disappointment and other topics, but
it was deleted. I haven't seen any convincing evidence that she's out,
but then I just hang out in this backwater.

It's not easy and it's not supposed to be. But if you are going to
moderate a forum full of ex cultists, you better be able to rise above
your own prejudices.
Oh, gosh, there's so much going on. I own a small forum now- scnforum.org.
In November I announced that I no longer considered myself to be a Scn'ist.
I'd realized I was more into the label than in anything else, and I thought
"is that really what I want to be doing?" I made an announcement on a number
of fora. I still have a lot of FZ friends and the board I own is one I
inherited from Geir Isene- a Norwegian OTVIII who left the cult and publicly
published his Doubt formula about how fucked up CofS is. The board is pro
tech which kind of confuses some people who've seen my announcement, but,
well, I never was one to be all one way and not t'other.
Yep, still in Seattle. Very busy with work, working out, going out for flag
football this Autumn, all that good stuff.
Did some picketing, took some footage of Seattle Ideal Org Grand Opening
with DM there. I wasn't supposed to be able to get that close but I found a
way and I got DM right on film. I shot about 90% of the footage. A couple
times I got kind of bored and turned off the camera. I'm new to editing and
doing vids so the editing is extremely choppy. But ok mebbe for a first
attempt. It's on my google channel claireswazey.
>
> I see realpch is still here, along with homer, Android Cat, John Dorsey.

Yes, but a lot of people we used to talk to no longer post at all. It's a
shame but I guess usenet is no longer anywhere near as popular as it used to
be.
>
> Does Tori Christman post on a.r.s anymore? I see Jeff and some others are

I see Tory around. She posted on my announcement thread last November- a bit
of a derail from her. She's mainly on OCMB and ESMB.
Haven't seen Tilman in a while. Did exchange some friendly back channel
communicationwith Warrior. I talk to some of my other original ars friends
from time to time back channel.

you.

I know what you mean.

Well, brains ~are~ meat, for sure.

Now that was an interesting one. Mary seemed to leave, created a blog, was
posting a lot of implied dissent but so carefully walking the line. Really
attractive articulate woman. But she didn't want to get into too much cult
discussion when people would post on the blog. Later, she went back. But
there's NO WAY she doesn't know it's a big problem- a huge series of
problems and abuses. I read her blog, I know that she knows.

Right. You and I were always out front with our identities. But I have had
the chance to meet and even in a couple cases make friends with some Anons.
Very nice people.
I guess different people have to approach it in their own individual ways.
Me? I'm too out there to ever be or have been anonymous, even when the cult
was hassling me about posting here (and I was posting FRIENDLY- to CofS-
type stuff. Idiots.)
A helluva lot of things have been happening...with me, the critic's scene,
all kinds of stuff. Feel free to drop me a line if you'd ever like to.
Again, I am truly sorry for your loss though I certainly understand that it
was a mercy in some respects. But she was your Mom and this kind of thing is
never ever easy.
Hugs,
Claire
Gotcha. I can't say that she and I really are on the same sheet of music in
many respects. There was a time when I'd not have said that, though.
I hope that she has fun and enjoys all her future endeavors after she leaves
ESMB and hands it off or whatever she ends up doing with it. I do wish her
the best and smile reminiscently thinking of the friendship she and I used
to have.

Hypothetical: Let's say a survey was taken around the entire world,
with everyone participating, and 100% of the votes were that people
agreed with everything you said about Mr. Erlich.
What would you do then? What would you post about?
The Rutgers Attorney Robert W. Clark, formerly of York, PA. aka "henri",
"Henry", "ptsc", on the newsgroup alt.religion.scientology. The
favorite posting would be the one in which Clark calls Tilman Hausherr a
"nazi cocksucker" for questioning Reverend Erlich about the details
concerning the Reverend's secret monetary settlement with the Church of
Scientology; and, what he actually agreed to in the settlement documents.
Then I'd probably go after others paid to ruin anti-scientology forums.
I want my fuckin' money!

Yeah, I gotta learn how to play flag football. Fortunately John (although
not being interested in most sports apart from boxing and gymnastics) knows
how to play- he was telling me about it - amidst a bit of eye rolling. So
I'm going to get him to show me. Flag football starts late September.
